I had an amazing time on my hiking tour to Monkey Mountain. Our guide was absolutely fantastic — not only was he knowledgeable about the local wildlife, plants, and history of the area, but he was also incredibly personable and made the hike fun and engaging from start to finish. I really appreciated how he took the time to help me practice my Spanish along the way — it made the experience even more meaningful! The trail was beautiful, and while it was a bit of a challenge at times, the reward at the top was so worth it. The view from the summit was absolutely breathtaking — one of those moments you want to bottle up and remember forever. Highly recommend this tour if you’re looking for a memorable adventure with a guide who truly cares about making it special.

We enjoyed this hike with Jair which makes this beautiful place accessible safely for tourists unfamiliar with the place. This guide is friendly, very attentive and attentive. This activity was perfect for spending the excess of an all-inclusive without being totally exhausting. The coconut that was offered was the perfect replenishment to rehydrate well on the way home. We recommend!

You’ll need a certain fitness level to do this. Not extreme by any stretch, but it is a decent climb, with a bit of a rock scramble at the end. You are also expected to keep up, to a certain degree. My wife found it a struggle that day, so we were at the back all the way up. Jair is very patient though and stopped the group on several occasions, so no issues there. You just start to feel bad you’re holding the group up. Put it this way, if you’re driving around Sayulita in a golf cart because you find the hills a struggle to walk, you may not want to pick this activity. But if you’re steady on your feet, a fitness level of say 3.5 or above and are looking to sweat out some of your tequila, this is a great way to do it! I also like the fact it’s close to Sayulita, so you don’t end up spending to long time stuck in a car driving to the starting point. The little town of Higuera Blanca (starting point and where you’ll eat dinner) is also something you’d likely never experience otherwise, and it was quite pleasant.
