Our accredited guide will meet you at the entrance to Pacaya Volcano National Park, where you will begin a guided hike through nature trails surrounded by vegetation and breathtaking views. 5.00This was such an incredible experience! Alfonso was such an amazing guide, he took great care of us on the volcano. He had so much excellent information to share and was a pleasure to be with. We got to have pizza on the volcano, it was truly delicious, and roasted marshmallows over volcanic vents. Highly recommend to anyone coming to Guatemala to come up Pacaya with Alfonso!

1.00April 2026 Pacaya Volcano I booked a private tour with MB Guatemaya Tours to hike Pacaya Volcano. Candy Raxon replied to my email inquiry and said they could accommodate my family of four. She asked for $200 via PayPal to secure the reservation and $200 cash on the day. I also asked for a WhatsApp number but never got one. Upon arrival to the port, I never saw our name. I spoke with another tour outfit and the operator said the owner past away and has heard of three other customers not receiving a tour. I booked with another tour company on the spot that day. I filed a complaint with PayPay and received my money back. MB Guatemaya got back with me the next day via email with a generic message to let me know their guide’s car broke down. Beware. Do not pay this company any money until after they deliver you a tour.

5.00Our family of 4 had a great time hiking up Pacaya with Alfonso. He grew up near the volcano and is very knowledgeable about the area. He was prompt in picking us up, a fast and easy communicator, and very helpful. I had twisted my ankle the day before while hiking in Peten and I wasn’t sure if I was going to be able to do the hike, but Alfonso easily secured a horse for me with one fast phone call. When we arrived in the parking lot, the horse was right there waiting for us! He showed us a lot and was very generous with his time. Would highly recommend reaching out directly to Alfonso to book your tour of Pacaya.

5.00We had a great day with Alfonso doing the Pacaya volcano tour. Even with the streets closed for the semana santa procesión he parked nearby and walked to meet us at our hotel and then drop us off at the end. He was knowledgeable and patient when our half of the group lagged behind, making it a very enjoyable outing
