After we meet at 6:30 am, we'll go towards the natural park Chicaque through the south of Bogota, the town of Soacha and getting to the San Antonio town rural area where the park is located. We'll start stretching and warming up to hike a downhill of 2 km throug, where we'll witness abundant species of vegetation, birds, insects, rodents, etc; then we'll get the Rock Pick with a marvelous landscape view. Then we'll get to the restaurant-lodge at the bottom of the park for a small break. We will continue to the beautiful waterfall of high altitude coming from the mountains. Later on, travelers have the option to pay for a typical lunch back in the restaurant-lodge. Finally we will come back to the the park's entrance, hiking upwards on the mountain which is the most demanding as well as rewarding part of the tour; however, you will always find the option to take a jeep for an extra charge you'll have to pay in the lodge. We will end our tour in the starting point (El Dorado Plaza).

Carlo is a great tour guide who is very knowledgeable about Bogota and also gave recommendations on what to wear for this type of tour. We did total of 6.5 miles, but the elevation was very high as you are hiking in the mountains. You are either going up or going down, nothing in between. I hike at least twice a week and I would say that this was strenuous hike. The view was well worth it! Thank you Carlo for your patience during this hike as I had an amazing time. I would 100% recommend for those people who hike at least 6miles on regular basis. Also I would recommend to make it private so that you can go at your own pace as long as you finish the hike before the park is closed

Carlos was an amazing guide! He picked me up on time at my hostel and we drove 2 hours to the park where we did some stretches and then started. I wasn’t sure when we would eat so I had a snack but it turns out we already got to the Refugio after an hour downhill and were the first ones. We got breakfast and coffee and then continued to do the long loop to the waterfall. Some parts were steep with the high altitude combined, but we walked a pretty fast pace as it was just me and him. We got to the waterfall before anybody else and then continued back. Got another coffee at the Refugio as we were already back there around noon. Then we walked the 1.5km up to the parking lot which was pretty steep! You can also take a hero up if needed. Carlos was lovely, knowledgeable and I got a very personalized tour as I happened to be the only one who booked that day. I felt very comfortable and safe at all times. It was a great day out in nature and I highly recommend!

Carlo is an extremely knowledgeable, welcoming, patient, friendly guide. He made the hike very enjoyable, relaxing, whilst a bit challenging, but not too much and gave enough time to stop and enjoy the views of the mountains, forest and villages, as well as identifying different plants. I highly recommend this tour to anyone staying in Bogotá and wanting a day in nature, but not too far from the city.

A good experience with an excellent guide just outside the city of Bogota. The trail is easy going in (downhill) but somewhat challenging on the way out (uphill). Carlo will keep things interesting with his expert knowledge of the park and its ecosystem.

Carlo was an excellent host. He was extremely knowledgeable on the park's history, wildlife and plant life. I am not a hiker and I can say we hiked at a very comfortable pace. Also, I felt super safe as the the terrain was not too challenging. Carlo provided great advice on what to wear. Carlo even prepped us with stretching exercises. We started the hike on the ancient path and made our way to the Refugio. Then we continued to the waterfall. Refugio has different lunch options depending on the day. The food was delicious.

The trek was really magical and not very far from Bogota, which is very practical. Carlo is an amazing guide, very cool and knowledgeable, who does everything to ensure your safety. There are a lot of different trail and activity options in the park and Carlo adapts to your needs. I would 100% recommend this hike!! Thanks for everything

The experience in this wonderful Andean ecosystem was simply fantastic. Knowing about the different characteristics of the nature, culture and history of the surrounding region of Bogotá is very rewarding because it combines hiking (I have to say it is demanding, but realizable) with a very interesting conversation with Carlo, who is in fact a very knowledgeable guide of Colombian history and passionate about what he does. For future participants I recommend a good rest the night before and wear special shoes for hiking or hiking on rocky terrain preferably.

The hike through Chicaque park was simply stunning. You start higher up in altitude and walk down. You notice how the temperature changes and the flora as well. About halfway through the hike you stop at a nice lodge to have a small breakfast and continue to the waterfall. The waterfall is amazing! I’ve never seen anything like it before and worth the tough hike back up the hill. This trip is great to get a glimpse of the complexity of Colombia’s ecosystem. Carlo is a great guide and tells you not only about the park, but can also help you understand Colombian culture, politics, and history during the drive. Also, the hike is not easy by any means. It can be slippery and steep at times so I recommend not taking this trip if you have any joint issues or are not in good physical shape.

A great day of hiking in the high Andes. The views were spectacular and Carlo, our guide taught us a lot about the flora and fauna and the local history. I definitely recommend this activity!
