I’ll pick you up in my car from your hotel or a central meeting spot, and I’ll welcome you as if you were visiting a friend here in Hiroshima. As a local guide who has lived here for many years, with experience as a host mother and as a graduate of an American university, I love making guests feel at home. My goal is simple: to share Hiroshima’s past and present through gentle, heartfelt stories that stay with you, while giving you the warmth of being shown around by a local friend.
This tour is personally run by me, from planning to guiding, so you’ll enjoy a truly one-of-a-kind experience. Let’s take a peaceful drive together and discover Hiroshima not just as a place, but as a feeling.

Hiroshima Peace Memorial Park
Step into history with a local guide as you explore the heart of Hiroshima’s Peace Memorial Park. This deeply moving tour begins at the hypocenter of the atomic bombing, where you'll learn about the events of August 6, 1945 and their lasting impact. Your guide will lead you through key memorials within the park, including the Cenotaph for the A-bomb Victims, the Flame of Peace, and other monuments that honor lives lost and advocate for a nuclear-free future. Thoughtful explanations will help you understand the symbolism and stories behind each site. After the guided walk, you'll enter the Hiroshima Peace Memorial Museum, where you’ll explore at your own pace. The museum’s exhibits—featuring personal belongings, photographs, and survivor testimonies—offer a quiet, contemplative space to reflect. Unlike books or documentaries, being in the actual location allows you to feel the atmosphere and emotional weight of Hiroshima’s history in a way that’s truly unforgettable.
Miyajima
Visit the Itsukushima Shrine, another of Hiroshima's World Heritage Sites. Miyajima is a lively island full of charm, where you can enjoy beautiful temples, souvenir shops, and inviting restaurants. Strolling through the streets, you’ll find plenty of local specialties to try, perfect for “tabearuki”—sampling food as you walk. Beyond the iconic Itsukushima Shrine, Miyajima offers a warm and festive atmosphere that makes every visit both memorable and delightful. Your guide will share interesting facts about Miyajima, covering topics such as the history of Hiroshima and Japan, samurai, and religion.
