River Khwae Bridge
From Hua Hin it takes about 2,5 Hours to the historical and famous Bridge over the Kwai River. This bridge was made famous by Pierre Boulle in his book and the film which was based on it, The Bridge on the River Kwai.

The museum is divided into two sections, one depicting the construction of the Death Railway which is meant to recreate the quarters used by Allied POWs, and the other consisting of reconstructed bamboo huts containing such items as paintings, drawings and photos of and by former prisoners, weapons, tools, and maps.

An emotional trip that shows you the real story of the Bridge over the River Kwai. The guide and the driver were excellent and though it was a long day from our hotel it was 100% worth the experience

I have almost nothing to complain about. Would have liked more time at the bridge. would have been nice if it hadn't been so crowded.

Long drive to Kwai (3hrs) so a long day out but well worth it. Museums were dated but some excellent artifacts. Lunch was excellent and in a great location overlooking the river. We opted for the 1hr train journey when ended by crossing the famous bridge. Also visited two war cemetaries that were immaculately kept by the War Graves Commision. Very sobering to see age at which so many lives ended. Most were in their early 20's.

We travelled to the River Kwai and managed to see a lot of the main sights including the Cemetery , the museum, the Bridge and the death railway however, there is so much to see if we were to do this again we would take in an overnight stay to try and see everything, all said the trip was great fun.

The program was what it promised. The food was unexpectedly good. Sure we were not the only tourists on site, but that was to be expected. The tour is not suitable for older people with physical disabilities. Because as an example it is difficult to get in and out of the boats, we had the problem with a couple who needed more help.

This trip is well worth the time and money. If you are interested in WW2 then this is a must. Note it is 3 hours each way drive...
