Historium Brugge
In the Historium Story we take you on a time trip to medieval Bruges. Let yourself be swept up in a wonderful love story while walking through seven historical themed rooms – magnificent medieval backdrops, with film, music and special effects. Using an audio guide you will hear everything about the Golden Age of Bruges and imagine yourself back in the time of Jan van Eyck. The Historium is located on the Market Square, where the Waterhalle used to be. This was the central warehouse for the shipping industry in the thriving trading city. The location has been reconstructed in the attraction and gives your visit an extra dimension.

This was just bearable. The best part was getting back out into the light and looking out from the balcony. It’s a pretty claustrophobic experience going into one dark room after another without any host to guide you. Why does it all have to be so dark (I guess because of so many screens) - in my opinion self defeating.. The story is pretty unengaging and the narration is too long and can bore the socks off you. There are no windows and the doors close behind you. It felt more like a spooky ride you had to walk/climb through. A human guide would make it far better. Ditch the headphones and have a person talk you through in a couple of languages. Nobody would mind a bit if repetitiveness as long as the spiel is to the point.

Very nice experience!! Is well put together with the videos that are incorporated into the decor, as if you are concerned with it. Very interesting and clearly explained about a piece of the medieval history of Bruges. Highly recommended and a nice relaxing activity for young and old.

We visited with two under 5s and they both really enjoyed the tour. The story was easy to follow and the sets and moving figures were impressive. We had a beer in the bar afterwards too - it was a big thumbs up from all of us.

The story we were able to experience here made the museum visit a unique experience. It was the most entertaining and informative museum visit I've ever had. I would recommend it to everyone. We had a small problem with the children, but the employee Eline was so accommodating and super friendly that everything was resolved. We haven't experienced such service very often anywhere in the world. Thank you, it was great.

Very nice experience! You get headphones on and are digitally taken on an adventure with Jacob through old Bruges via 7 rooms. When the Tour is finished, you can still interact. Then we had a delicious drink in the bar overlooking the market square.

Complete the waste of money. Stupid story about a parrot. I wanted to know about the history of this lovely city. I learned very little. 72 Euros and I feel completely ripped off. Please don’t waste your money

It was a really fun and immersive experience. They have made a 3D movie which takes you through medieval Brugge, following the love story of (fictive) Jacob, the apprentice of the painter Jan van Eyck & Anne. In my opinion it was a bit less about the actual history of Brugge, apart from the loose audio tracks you can listen to when reaching the glass displays, and more about this fictive love story, which in itself was very enjoyable mainly due to the immersiveness of the tour. The love story in itself was really fun. The Video they made to accompany the story was full of detail and intrest and takes you through various themed rooms to immerse you further. The actual historical knowledge of Brugge will be mainly seen near the end of the tour, where you can type in manual codes on the audio machine to hear information on specific displays and eras. When visiting Brugge and you have the time, this is worth to visit and experience once.

Kids stuff. For families quite nice and for people with an attention span of a moth maybe okay. Otherwise, little draft. Superficial love story in Bruges with some props around it. Lots of money for nothing.
