The Independence Palace
On April 30th, 1975, what the Vietnamese refer to as the 'American War' officially ended when tank number 843 of the North Vietnamese Army crashed through the gates of what was, at the time, the residence of the President of the Republic of Vietnam
War Remnants Museum
Formerly known as the Museum of American War Crimes is a poignant display of the futility of war. Some of the black and white photography in the 'Requiem' exhibit is particularly touching and is dedicated to both foreign and Vietnamese journalists and photographers who perished during the conflict.

we had a lovely time. Leo our guide was very friendly and knowledgeable. He looked after us all and make sure that we all kept together and made sure we was safe. Our transport was very comfortable and cool in the heat. The restaurant that we eat in for lunch was very delicious. Leo definitely make the tour very enjoyable. would defiantly recommend.

Our tour guide was Lee. He was excellent. He is extremely knowledgeable about the history of Vietnam, was able to explain things in great detail as we moved from site to site, and he was able to answer all of our questions in detail, all the while in perfectly understandable English. He also has a great sense of humor which made our tour a lot of fun, and a needed break from some of the heavy sites we visited. He also had a great driver who always was waiting for us when we were done each visit, with the car nicely, cooled down, and water bottles waiting. Highly recommend.

We spent half a day with Chew who was an exceptional guide on this private tour. No question went unanswered and he was very friendly and knowledgeable. Such an interesting half day and the Remnants Museum will be in my memory for a very long time. Highly recommended

Our half day tour included the Emperor Jade Pagoda (our favorite stop), the Independence Palace, the War Remnants Museum (as an American, very hard to view all of the displays!) and my least favorite stop - the Post Office. Our guide, Tony, was thorough and interesting. The tour was a good history lesson and insight into the Vietnamese culture.

For those new to HCMC this was a great way to see the city and get a feel for life here. It was well balanced with , for example, the confronting war museum juxtaposed by a trip to the lovely post office, amongst the itinerary. The tour guide was friendly and knowledgeable and the driver was very safe. My family enjoyed and appreciated the trip and the length of about 4 1/2 was perfect for us.

This tour covered the main sights we wanted to visit in Ho Chi Minh City. Phat was our guide and was enthusiastic, sharing lots of information and chatting about Vietnamese life in general. His English was good though not as fluent as other guides we’ve had, but we did manage to understand each other well enough! Phat also adapted the tour to our needs. We chose not to go to the market as we spent longer in the Independence Palace and War Remnants Museum. We had a nice car for transport but the traffic was very busy as usual so we actually got out and walked between a couple of stops. Again, totally our choice and we got extra time to explore. Overall a great afternoon learning more about this wonderful country.
