After enjoying a bird’s eye view of the world, we then head underground to explore the mysterious labyrinth of caves at the Hastings Caves reserve.
Geeveston
We start the tour by travelling south of Hobart through the picturesque Huon Valley a region famous for its abundant produce of apples, pears, cherries and fish farming. Our first stop for the day is to explore Tahune Adventures with the AirWalk and several forest walks to choose from. We begin with AirWalk and a gentle uphill walk covering 104 steps to reach the elevated walkway which sits 30m high among the treetops. The AirWalk covers 619 metres with the final cantilever section sitting 50m above the Huon River.

You will need endurance to climb stairs and walk. Fitness level should be strong. Vehicle could have been better and newer.

Great day trip! We did the Tahune airwalk & swinging bridge walk. Both are easy walks. Took a quick dip in the thermal swimming pool (but only 30min at this spot + changing in and out of swimwear was maybe a bit on the very short side...) hastings cave was another highlight. Wonderful caveguide. Very enthusuastic. Very easy accesible cave and truly gem-packed with wonders. Our guide matt was a very knowledgable and kind guy! Thanks for having us, we had a marvellous day and id recommend this trip to everyone!

Very good tour of the backcountry of Tasmania. Highlight was the Tahun (raised trek) Airwalk. Cave was interesting also. Thermo swimming pool was nice but not very warm. I recommend tour.

A great day. Heather was an amazing guide. Great energy and knowledgeable. We spent just the right amount of time at each location. Caves were my favorite part of the tour. Recommend if you are in the area.

It is a long day with a lot of walking so be prepared but do it all. Do all the walks and take in all that these beautiful areas have to offer. Heather was brilliant with her local knowledge too.

We only had enough time to do the airwalk as the drive is quite long - but fun - and it will depend on how quick you do the walks. To get to the airwalk you drive along a logging road - which is paved - through some impressive trees, which is a good start to the adventure. The actual airwalk is fun, but it looks like the forest is still regenerating from a fire in 2019 and in a few years will be more impressive. Going out on the cantilever section gave an impressive view! Take the walk to the swinging bridges, but they do bounce a bit! All in all a good trip.

Too bad the bus is so uncomfortable and there is no audio guide. The Australian guide was very explanatory but very difficult for Europeans to understand
