Rachel is a great guide!! Hilarious & shares a lot of knowledge on the city. Tour itself is cool, basically majority of time is getting chance to take as many photos all around Hobbiton as possible with a guide giving tidbits along the way on history & unique stories of the set. Good break for tea/drink in beautiful decorated atmosphere. Buffet was delicious - you have a set time & sit with your travel group. Would recommend as a day trip from Auckland!
All that and bee sting too!

It's awesome... amazing, learned a lot about the making of the films, much was bountiful and delicious, Ellie (our tour guide) was delightful.... Rachel (our driver) gave a wealth of info about New Zealand. Be aware of bee stings....and no one to assist you.

Exactly as advertised - nice bus, very knowledgeable and friendly driver who taught us a lot about Aotearoa/New Zealand on the drive. Scenic drive from Auckland. The Hobbiton tour was excellent and the lunch was very good. It’s a remarkable site. If you’re a LOTR fan it’s really worth the trip.

First of all, thanks to Dave, the friendly and expert bus driver for a safe trip there and back! He was so pleasant! Secondly, I’m not a Tolkien fan at all but I loved seeing the countryside and the movie set, very well done!!
