  The ride and commentary related to the tour was skilfully provided by Raymond. I personally appreciated his smart driving, finding ways to optimise the overall road trip. The two main sites we visited were nicely combined on a day trip with reasonable breaks, so at the end I did not feel exhausted. My favourite was by far the Hobbiton experience, being also a movie fan; it felt like I was immersed in the real Middle Earth world, not too touristic or staged as I initially imagined.   This trip was absolutely one of a kind. Going to the Lord of the Rings movie set and the Waitomo caves was just amazing and something we'll never forget. Our guide was really considerate and made sure we stayed together as a group. It was a long day, lunches should have been included and would have been greatly appreciated.

  We did the Hobbiton Movie Set & Waitomo Caves Small Group Tour, and overall it was a great experience—I would highly recommend it. I have to admit, I haven’t seen The Lord of the Rings, but I still absolutely loved visiting Hobbiton Movie Set. It’s such a unique and beautifully maintained place—definitely a must-do experience when you’re in New Zealand. The Waitomo Glowworm Caves were interesting to see, though not my personal favorite part of the day. That said, it was still worth experiencing as part of the tour.   Seamless experience. Out guide, Simon, was knowledgeable and engaging throughout. Made a day with a lot of driving pleasent, especially with 3 little kids. Doing the full day with Hobbiton and Waitomo was really worth it! Plus got a lot of scenery, history, and cultural touch points too!

  This is an amazing trip! Our driver gave us lots of history and information on the drive to the Hopperton movie set. Our driver, Andy, was very personable and knowledgeable. We felt very safe in his care, and the entire day ran on schedule. Once we were there, the sat is magical! It was better than we expected… I highly recommend it. Then we went onto the Waitomo worm caves, which were also amazing. You’re not allowed to take pictures inside, unfortunately. I would highly recommend this excursion, it’s well worth the money.

  Wonderful experience even though the morning consisted of pouring down rain. The rain finally eased when we arrived at Hobbiton. It is beautiful and magical. We then had an ale at the Green Dragon pub and went to see the glow worm caves. It also is amazing. We made the drive back to Auckland but stopped for some Hokey Pokey ice cream. Excellent day and there were plenty of bathroom stops. Our driver/guide was named Warren and he is excellent.

  Loved it, everything as said in the description, the places were extraordinary. The van very comfortable and clean, we were offered water.
