  We had an exceptional experience with our tour guide, Adil. From the very beginning, he stood out for his professionalism and warm approach. Despite us running a few minutes late, he patiently waited at the pick-up point, which immediately set a positive tone for the day. Adil’s knowledge of Auckland and the surrounding regions is truly impressive. As both the driver and guide of the mini bus, he managed everything seamlessly while keeping us engaged throughout the journey. He shared insightful details about every phase of the trip, making even the drive informative and enjoyable. What really made the experience special was how he brought each destination to life. His explanations and stories about Hobbiton and the Waitomo Caves added depth and context that we would have otherwise missed. He ensured we understood the history, significance, and unique features of each attraction, making the visit far more memorable. On top of that, his communication skills were excellent—clear, friendly, and engaging at all times. He made sure everyone felt comfortable, informed, and included. Overall, Adil went above and beyond to deliver a fantastic experience. Highly recommended for anyone looking for a knowledgeable, reliable, and genuinely caring tour guide.

  This was my second time doing this exact tour - two years apart. It’s a very long day with lots of driving (12 hour day) but it’s SO WORTH IT. Hobbiton is AMAZING and so was the Waitomo Cave experience. Adil was our driver and we were all so happy that he gave us such a wonderful commentary along the way about New Zealand. He was super knowledgeable about all things New Zealand and was always able to point things of interest out to us along the way. We ALL appreciated that! He even squeezed in a little “surprise” stop along the way at the end of our day that was a special memory we will never forget. 😊

  Auckland and Beyond was excellent. Special shout out for Jeff! He was a 7 star guide and a thorough gentleman. Thank you for sharing some history, restaurant suggestions, things to see.... wealth of information. We had a blast!!!

  Our driver Jon was fantastic. He was friendly, engaging, but also intuitive in giving the group time to rest during the drive. Jon relayed interesting and informative facts about New Zealand and provided humor and knowledge. Our Hobbiton tour guide Annie was knowledgeable and also engaging. Our Hobbiton visit was an absolute highlight and I'd recommend this tour to both film/book buffs as well as those that have limited knowledge of the series. The Waitomo caves was also a great experience and overall, I would highly recommend this tour package to anyone thinking of visiting Hobbiton and the Waitomo glow worm caves.

  We had an amazing time on this tour. Our guide Jon was awesome. He ensured that no one was left behind, was very informative about the length of the tour and overall destination and created such a relaxed atmosphere we thoroughly enjoyed it. I would highly recommend this to anyone that wishes to cover the Hobbiton and the Waitomo Caves.

  The ride and commentary related to the tour was skilfully provided by Raymond. I personally appreciated his smart driving, finding ways to optimise the overall road trip. The two main sites we visited were nicely combined on a day trip with reasonable breaks, so at the end I did not feel exhausted. My favourite was by far the Hobbiton experience, being also a movie fan; it felt like I was immersed in the real Middle Earth world, not too touristic or staged as I initially imagined.   This trip was absolutely one of a kind. Going to the Lord of the Rings movie set and the Waitomo caves was just amazing and something we'll never forget. Our guide was really considerate and made sure we stayed together as a group. It was a long day, lunches should have been included and would have been greatly appreciated.

  We did the Hobbiton Movie Set & Waitomo Caves Small Group Tour, and overall it was a great experience—I would highly recommend it. I have to admit, I haven’t seen The Lord of the Rings, but I still absolutely loved visiting Hobbiton Movie Set. It’s such a unique and beautifully maintained place—definitely a must-do experience when you’re in New Zealand. The Waitomo Glowworm Caves were interesting to see, though not my personal favorite part of the day. That said, it was still worth experiencing as part of the tour.
