Absolutely brilliant experience. Thomas is one of the best guides I’ve ever had—knowledgeable, friendly, and genuinely passionate about sharing the traditions of Hoi An. Hung kept us comfortable all day with smooth driving and great hospitality. The activities were fun and hands-on: making rice noodles, trying wood carving, seeing how sleeping mats are woven, and sampling rice wine (which Thomas jokingly called “happy water”). Everyone loved it. I also really appreciated how seriously they took Hollie’s allergies at lunchtime—they handled it flawlessly. Couldn’t recommend this tour more.

What a fantastic tour! From start to finish, Thomas and Hung made us feel welcome and well looked after. The variety of activities—rice noodle making, wood carving, sleeping mat weaving, and rice wine production—gave us such a rich look into Vietnamese culture and craftsmanship. Lunch was delicious, and I was so impressed with how careful they were regarding Hollie’s allergies. Their attention to detail made the whole experience even more enjoyable for all of us. A perfect day in the Hoi An countryside!

Our countryside tour of Hoi An was nothing short of incredible. Thomas, our guide, and Hung, our driver, made the entire experience smooth, educational, and genuinely fun. We got hands-on with making rice noodles, tried our hand at wood carving, watched traditional sleeping mats being woven, and even learned how “happy water” (rice wine!) is made. Each stop felt authentic and engaging. A special mention goes to how attentive they were to Hollie’s allergies during lunch—they went above and beyond to make sure everything was safe for her. It was an unforgettable day and I’d recommend this experience to anyone visiting Hoi An.

If you do only one tour in Hoi An make it this one - it is an amazing experience. Our guides Hanni and Hung were absolutely brilliant and we saw so much of rural life, mat weaving, rice noodle cooking, wood carving and rice wine drinking! As well as a tour of the local countryside and conversations with guides about the way people live. Totally fantastic. Thank you

Fantastic Jeep tour, which took us to places we didn’t know about incl a fantastic lunch at the start of the trip. Quang was really good fun and knowledgeable, which made the tour a great experience. The driver was also brilliant at navigating some narrow roads and also the floods in the town. Highly recommended.

This was a fantastic tour and our tour guide was awesome. We got to see and experience the local culture and how people live in regional Vietnam. We got to try the local ‘happy wine’ and see how it is made, did some mat weaving, tried making rice noodles and did some wood carving (much harder than it looks). Overall a great experience and would definitely recommend.

Most interesting to get outside the city into the countryside, especially after so many people impacted by the floods. Underscores the resilience of the Vietnamese people. Our guide was superb and that makes all the difference.

Amazing tour! Just my husband and I on the tour ($120USD for both). Thomas was very friendly and contacted me by WhatsApp to confirm hotel pick up. Enjoyed a beautiful lunch first at a spa and restaurant before we headed into the countryside. The food at lunch was authentic, cooked by a lovely local lady, who shared her cooking tips with me. We then headed out into the villages and saw the real Vietnam outside of the cities and tourist areas. We joined a local family who produce rice cakes and rice noodles. We made some and heard about their daily routines and culture. We then visited another place and did wood carving, then the local rice wine maker and finally the family who weave mats. We tried some of the rice wine and bought a bottle. We supported each visit by purchasing some of their wares (bring small notes, 100,000 is nothing in your local currency but it makes a real difference here). We passed by schools, saw the school pick up. It was just a wholesome, fun and great tour. Highly recommend and Thomas is a lot of fun, he enjoyed the banter with my husband! The old Russian army jeep was a fun way to travel too. Choose this tour to give back to the local people outside of the main towns and gain valuable insight into their lives. It will make you feel gratitude for what you have in yours!
