Step aboard Dukling, a truly unique experience unlike any other Hong Kong harbour tour. As the city’s oldest and only original Chinese junk boat, Dukling stands apart from modern replicas—authentically built in 1955 as a fishing vessel and lovingly restored to preserve her legacy after sinking in 2014.
Dukling offers the rare chance to sail on a living piece of history that has witnessed Hong Kong’s dramatic transformation over 70 years. On this small humble boat, guests can enjoy Hong Kong’s world-famous night scenery as the city lights sparkle across the skyline, all in a calm, intimate setting, unlike big, crowded cruises.
More than just a sightseeing trip, Dukling is also a floating museum. Discover original artefacts, historic photos, and fishermen’s tools, and delve into stories and culture through insightful commentary. Whether you crave authentic heritage, relaxation, or breathtaking views, Dukling promises an unforgettable journey through Hong Kong’s past and present.

I was a little worried about what the stability of this old ship would be like but I needn’t have worried as it was fine, the pre trip communications and meeting instructions were all good.

The boat is so small and also the sail design was not in the picture. They removed the authenticity and cover it with sports design.

They commercialize their sails so not a red sail like in the photo. In this case it was for a good cause but not the boat you are expecting when it pulls up. They did not make an annoucement saying they were Duckling so did not know to get in line especially since another antique boat looking like the Viator photo was lining up. Had not one of our group seen the name below the break wall on the boat itself {nothing on the sails} we would not have even gotten on the boat. They need to make loud annoucement

Went on the 7:30pm tour to catch the 8:00 symphony of light laser show. Instructions to find the docking location was clear but it is a very congested area with many other tours sharing the same dock. You have to look for the person holding a clipboard with Dukling in order to check-in Crew was helpful and was punctual in timing. Music was broadcasted from the speakers on the boat so that was a nice touch. Also, great learn about the history of the Dukling. It was a little disappointing that all the masts were changed to a blue color for advertisement. Would have been better to have the red masts for the full junk boat experience since it is the original Dukling.

TERRIBLE. Do not waste your time or money on this cruise. The sails are not red. They are blue billboards with QR codes advertising an insurance company. Extremely disappointing and misleading

The people were very nice, even though the dock was mobbed with people getting on other boats. The boat went around a loop in the harbor (Causeway Bay), but seemed to spend too much time almost stationary near some plastic inflatables near the Island shore. I would have been happier if we went a bit further to see oher parts of the shore. We believe there are two boats of similar provenance and appearance, but we were on the one with advertising on the main sail. (Of course neither was ever under sail: they motored around), Seating was inconvenient but that was largely irrelevant. They passed out cans of beer and soft drinks. The whole thing was over in about an hour.

Enjoyed historic beautiful boat but felt the boat seams out of place in the environment of a modern harbour surrounded by sleek modern tour boats.

The light and music show is really worth seeing, the trip is well run, 45 minutes just right to enjoy the harbour at night
