Step aboard Dukling, a truly unique experience unlike any other Hong Kong harbour tour. As the city’s oldest and only original Chinese junk boat, Dukling stands apart from modern replicas—authentically built in 1955 as a fishing vessel and lovingly restored to preserve her legacy after sinking in 2014.

Dukling offers the rare chance to sail on a living piece of history that has witnessed Hong Kong’s dramatic transformation over 70 years. On this small humble boat, guests can enjoy Hong Kong’s world-famous night scenery as the city lights sparkle across the skyline, all in a calm, intimate setting, unlike big, crowded cruises.

More than just a sightseeing trip, Dukling is also a floating museum. Discover original artefacts, historic photos, and fishermen’s tools, and delve into stories and culture through insightful commentary. Whether you crave authentic heritage, relaxation, or breathtaking views, Dukling promises an unforgettable journey through Hong Kong’s past and present.

Really enjoyable tour. It felt very authentic and it was relaxing floating on the water watching the Symphony of Light show.

Tranquil way to view the city. One of the highlights of my trip. We took the 6:30 sailing and saw the sky transition from sunset to dark when we could appreciate all the lights.

It was a cool old ship, lots of good pic opportunities. Interesting history about the ship and Hong Kong.

What a great trip, the boat is really old and authentic. The cruise is so quiet and peaceful, ideal for seeing the lights of Hong Kong. Tip: go to the back of the boat on the raised level there's a padded backrest for a cuddle with the missus whilst you take in the spectacular view.

  • Dukling Harbour Cruise

We enjoyed our cruise aboard the Duckling around Victoria Harbour. The views of the skyline from the water were beautiful and offered a classic Hong Kong perspective. Staff provided a brief history of the vessel, which added context to the experience, and they were friendly and readily available to answer additional questions throughout the tour. While the cruise was enjoyable, we did wish it had been a bit longer and ventured beyond the immediate harbour area to allow for a more in-depth experience. Overall, it’s a pleasant and relaxing way to see Victoria Harbour, especially if you’re looking for a short, informative cruise with attentive staff.

Apart from the wonderful night time views off Hong Kong harbour, the tour is a little boring. Could at least do with one of the Guides talking a little and not just a recording. The staff were still friendly and accommodating though.

  • Not the biggest boat, but the best by far!

This was a great choice. This was not the biggest boat running this type of tour in the Harbour, but it had the best heart and crew. They were very attentive, assisting me to board and disembark, as I use a cane, as well as helping me get around the decks. The boat had the charm of traditional Chinese fishing junks. They played lovely, relaxing piano music. After the bustle of the day and the crowds, it was a lovely respite. We were on the 6:30 pm sailing, which was perfect for viewing all of the buildings lit up on both side of the Harbour. Among the regular lights, we were treated to special displays specifically designed for the upcoming Year of the Horse celebration of Chinese New Year. There were about 25 passengers on the sailing, leaving plenty of space to see everything. All in all, beer was cold, music was soothing, crew were great, and the sights were outstanding. It was lovely that the weather was perfect, too, around 22-24 C, with only a slight breeze.

  • Definitely a fun experience

  • Cool historic boat but underwhelming experience

My wife and I were really looking forward to this tour but we were left completely underwhelmed by our experience. At the start of the tour, the guide spent about 5 minutes telling us a little about the boat; how it was used and its history. The guide also told us the 3 “must-try” things in HK: pineapple buns, egg tarts and milk tea. Unfortunately that was the extent of the commentary we received. The rest of the 50 minute ride was spent in relative silence and we didn’t hear any more about the boat or HK. The guide could have made the experience a lot more memorable/educational by pointing out notable landmarks or buildings along the boat ride, interesting stories/snippets of HK or its history, or even just a local’s perspective and recommendations of little-known places to visit. Also, the main sail of the boat was not raised (but this was the case as well for Dukling’s competitor). To his credit, the guide was very helpful and gladly took a number of nice photos of us as we posed at the front of the boat. Sadly, my wife and I spent the latter part of the trip looking forward to get back on shore. In short, if you have some time to kill and want to take some nice pictures while enjoying views of HK from the water, then this tour ticks all the boxes.
