It’s a barra bonanza! This 2.5 hour guided tour is the best of the best. It starts with a 1 hour Farm Tour, where you get to go behind the scenes at the Daintree Saltwater Barramundi Farm, to see how we grow and supply top quality produce to some of Australia’s finest restaurants. It takes you from our front gate, through to the baby barra ponds and growing ponds where you get to feed the barra and help check their weight and health. Witness hand-harvesting of the iconic Barramundi by our experienced and professional team and then go and try to catch your own, at the big Barra Pond. Our crew are with you every step of the way to inform, illuminate and share their secret tips on how to land these big, silver beauties. Top it off with a gourmet tasting platter. Pond to Plate.

Had a great day out learning about barramundi farming. Our guide Luke was friendly and knowledgeable. We were then treated to a delicious Barra grazing platter and had fun catching a barramundi

My party of 4, we loved the experience of the farm tour with lots of information about the barra, the way they farm and their processes to make the fish ready for market. We got to sample the barra cooked 3 different ways and especially the thrill of catching a barra that put up a bit of a fight. What an experience to do, some real olf fashioned fun. 😃

Absolutely amazing. Tasting platter was delicious. The staff were very nice and helpful. And of course, the fishing, it was great. My son had the time of his life.

Lee took us for a tour of the farm. His knowledge of the operation and love of his work was palpable. Gaz took us fishing in the ponds. He was a passionate and patient teacher.

We did the farm and fishing tour and had an excellent day. We highly recommend doing the farm tour and learning about the important things the team are doing behind the scenes, we found it really informative and well presented. They also give you a delicious tasting platter of fresh farm Barra between the farm tour and fishing experience. We would happily go back to fish again, they have some great trophy sized Barra in the front pond. They still fight like wild fish, jumping and throwing the lures so don’t expect to land them all! It is a great challenge which made it more interesting in our opinion.

We had a wonderful half day tour of the Hook a Barra facility in the Daintree. The team there is so obviously proud of their offering and whilst the farm and operations tour was very interesting and the gourmet tasting plate delicious, by far the biggest buzz for me was to go fishing and actually catch a number of Barra, the biggest of which was 97 cm. A huge fish. No wonder fisherman from around the world travel to Far North Queensland for the exhilaration of catching a big Barra.. We will certainly return next time we are in Far North Queensland and perhaps take their new Daintree Sensations tour.

5/5 So much fun. My wife & I caught some trophy Barra. The staff are so dedicated to the fish and the business, absolutely determined for you to catch the biggest (or first) Barra of your life. Which happened to me. 95cm 👍🏼🏆 and Narelle 80cm 👍🏼🏆 Unquestionably the best bang for your buck experience in the Cairns area. Thanks Lee, Michael and all the crew at Hook-A-Barra for the life long memories. Mike & Narelle

Did the farm tour, fishing and platter. During their 'down' period so we fished for longer than normal. Mine was about 80cm and hubby's was about 25!!! I had one on within first 5 minutes. A few got off but thats fishing. Great tour, fantastic platter - raw fish, fish balls, fish skewers, sping rolls, batterd fish. Very friendly and very professional. Neck cover a great touch. Highly recommend
