Excellent all around. Great communication. Cynthia is very knowledgeable about Gyeongju history. She was committed to creating a memorable experience for us. She even escorted us to the intercity bus station so that we don’t get lost. Would 100% recommend Cynthia and Viator for your personal Gyeongju experience.

As a Korean myself, I joined this tour with my Middle East business partner, wanting to go beyond just showing the sights and actually share the depth of history and culture that Gyeongju has to offer. Given the professional nature of our relationship, I was also mindful of making a good impression — so I wanted everything to go smoothly. Jake delivered beyond expectations. His explanations of the historical significance behind each site were thorough, engaging, and genuinely educational. I even learned things I hadn't known myself, which says a lot. He struck the perfect balance between being informative and keeping the experience relaxed and enjoyable. One detail that truly impressed me was how Jake handled dining. My partner is from the Middle East, and without us having to over-explain, Jake was considerate enough to find a meal option that worked for him. It was a small but meaningful gesture that showed real care and professionalism. The seamless hotel pickup and drop-off made the entire day stress-free. What stood out most, however, was Jake's attentiveness throughout: on the way back, there was a particular spot I had wanted to show my partner, and Jake made a point of stopping there without hesitation. That kind of personalized, thoughtful service truly set this tour apart. From start to finish, every moment was satisfying. If you're looking for a private Gyeongju experience that goes well beyond surface-level sightseeing — whether with family, friends, or even a business guest from abroad — this is the tour to book. Highly recommended.

Our tour was truly unforgettable thanks to our amazing guide. He was extremely knowledgeable, highly informed about the history, culture, and local stories, and explained everything with great passion and clarity. What made the experience especially memorable was how he always went the extra mile — sharing interesting stories, hidden details, and personal insights that brought every place to life. His patience, kindness, and attention to detail made us feel comfortable throughout the trip. It never felt like just a regular tour; it felt like traveling with someone who genuinely cared about making the experience meaningful for us. We came back with wonderful memories and a much deeper appreciation for the places we visited. Highly recommended!

We are a family of 9-86 years young. We loved the tour that allowed us to go at our own pace and not rush the youngest or oldest. Sang was fluent in English and Korean and a great "caretaker" for us. He watched out for us due to the rain, and all his quiet, small gestures ensured grandma was taken care of. He quietly took turns walking with each of the younger and older children, making conversation (a multi-gen group comes with different walking paces!). It was rainy, and our first stop was very overcast, but we made it and still saw the amazing grotto Buddha! We loved the background on the architectural design. Our next stops were met with better weather, and one of them I had visited before — but it was eye-opening to hear the history of the place. You get a glimpse of the true history of Korea through the meaning behind every stone placed and every lion statue stolen or left behind. We also grabbed some Galbi-tang, cold naengmyeon and Korean beef pancakes — comfort food to feed our souls during the gloomy weather. Then he took us to a beautiful, out-of-the-way café. It was a lovely place to rest amid rice paddy fields, and as my college-aged child said, it would be perfect for studying because it is so peaceful, aesthetic, and calm. I agree. Sang offered as much history or as little based on our preference - giving me plenty, given my love of it; honing in on aesthetic cafés and matcha houses for my college child; and having fun conversation with my 9-year-old. He conversed in Korean and shared historical facts in Korean as well. We kept him busy with all our varying interests and language preferences. It was a great value for the ease, comfort, pace and knowledge provided!

In one day we were able to cover all the history Gyeongju had to offer, eat in a local restaurant and also stop for some Bingsu. Everything we wanted to do and more. Our guide was versed in the history of the region and was able to answer all our questions, even the weird ones.

Jino was an excellent tour guide! He was so kind, helpful, and calm. He moved the car to pick us up so my mother would not have to walk somewhat long distances back to the car in the heat. He knew so much information about all of the sites we visited. I would 100% recommend him.

BK is a fabulous tour guide! He is great at communicating before, during, and afyer the tour. He was able to tailor the tour to our needs and timeline. We learned so much from him. He was very knowledgeable, funny, and super helpful. He helped us communicate with our rental company over a concern and helped us with our train tickets. He really helped us make great memories! I would highly recommend booking with BK as your travel guide!

Our guide Joy was amazing! She was born and lives in Gyeongju, so knows the city and its history deeply. She was also a history teacher and her expertise shows. We learned so much and had a great time. Joy took us to her favorite coffee place (we asked to stop for coffee) and her favorite lunch spot, both were great. The tour was a highlight of our Korean trip so far, I highly recommend this tour and hope that you get Joy if you book it!

We had a wonderful 4 hour trip to Seokarum Grotto and Bulguksa temples with Cynthia. She taught us so much and even took out photos and sent them later as a cute video. She also helped us find a good restaurant and order vegetarian food. It was a rainy outing but well worth it.
