Hue Imperial City (The Citadel)

The Imperial City is the most important historical and cultural sight, occupies a prominent place in the middle of the city. It look like a walled fortress and palace belonged to the ancient city of Hue which was a capital city of the Nguyen Dynasty (13 kings) for 140 years dating back from 1805 until 1945. Visiting the complex of The Imperial City, you will admire many of magnificent palaces and temples . With magnificent beauty and excellent palace architecture, you will surely enjoy the journey to visit.

    Had a great experience! Food was fantastic! Thao and Ny showed us how to make the mung bean dessert shaped like fruits. What a great time we all had! I recommend everyone to come visit this place when they go to Hue!

    We had a great day on the tour. C (Xi) was an amazing tour guide. Very friendly and full of knowledge, easy to understand and gave us all an amazing day. The itinerary was great and gave a deep inside into the history and culture. We visited the Thien Mu Pagoda, Imperial City of Hue, Incense Village, Bong Ba Markets, Khai Dinh Tomb and we enjoyed the most delicious traditional lunch at My home followed by herbal water footpath and mung bean cake dessert making. The staff at My Home restaurant were amazing and very friendly and welcoming and joined in conversation and laughter with us. Bight thank you to Hero who was our bus driver who patiently waited to tour us around all day.

    We had a wonderful day exploring Huế on this tour. The itinerary was very well balanced and gave us a great insight into the history and culture of the area. We visited a beautiful pagoda, enjoyed a short and relaxing boat ride, explored the palace of the last king, and visited the tombs of King 2 and King 12, which were truly impressive and peaceful places. We also stopped at an incense-making workshop, which was interesting and gave us a glimpse into a traditional local craft. We visited a local street market. Lunch was at a lovely restaurant with wonderful, tasty food, and the experience was made even better by the friendly and welcoming restaurant host. One of the highlights was the purifying foot bath and feeding the big golden fish, which was a fun and calming experience. The guide from Travelers company was amazing, knowledgeable, attentive, and genuinely kind, and made the whole day flow smoothly. Overall, a very enjoyable and memorable tour. Highly recommended for anyone visiting Huế.
