You’ll explore hidden alleys, arcades, and eateries only locals know, stopping at five hand-picked spots we visit often. Enjoy 15+ dishes, 3 local drinks, and Osaka favourites like takoyaki, karaage, kushikatsu, udon, and oden among many others.

What To Expect

Shinsekai

Time permitting, we’ll take a short stroll around Shinsekai—an often-overlooked area packed with hidden gems, fun facts, and sights to discover.

Tsutenkaku

Walk past Tsutenkaku, the famous landmark tower that is the focal point of the area and see where kushikatsu all began. Walk through the streets that over a century ago, were designed to bring a western feeling to Osaka.

We really enjoyed this tour— the paving was perfect, the amount of food was not too much nor too little, and we explored a really fun area of Osaka. Would recommend!

Andy hosted us (family with teens) on an entertaining tour of some great little eateries. Each stop was different and Andy was clearly prepared, knowledgeable and practised and he welcomed us into his adopted home of Osaka. Conversation flowed and everyone was made to feel welcome. We revisited one of the stops a few days later and found the place just as great as when Andy was around so I have faith he really does pick genuinely good places. All, kids included were happy with this tour.

We had the most amazing food tour with Anna from Hungry Osaka. The spots she took us were local gems, and the foods selected made us feel like we had a real authentic experience. Anna’s friendly personality, local knowledge and facts really topped it!

A very well organized and curated food tour without all the thrills and fuss! Adam, our tour guide was super knowledgeable and love a chat! The food was great and our bellies were overfull! We also learnt tonnes about the local culture and food culture! Thank you Adam for a wonderful night 🤩

I generally love doing food tours when visiting a new city and have to say the Osaka street food tour is one of my favorites. Our guide Anna was not only incredibly kind and friendly, but super knowledgable and generous. The restaurants were varied and offered tons of great food with a rich history and thought behind them. The walk was great and Anna’s sense of humour and warmth radiated throughout. Highly recommend this one!

Tim was an amazing tour guide. He was fun, friendly, and super knowledgeable about Japanese food, culture and society. It was such a great tour with 5 stops and 13 dishes! We didn't want it to end. Yay Tim for a job well done!

A+ food tour, and I say that as someone who’s done a lot of them. Our host was a wealth of local knowledge, and the food was genuinely memorable. We still talk about what we ate, and I’m pretty sure my sister is half joking, half serious about moving to Osaka because of this tour alone. Highly recommend signing up!
