A wonderful experience learning about the Icelandic bred. The guides gave you time to bond with your horse and they matched you with the horse that meets your experience level. The trail ride scenery was beautiful and you were given the opportunity to ride with beginner or more experienced. I am a very experienced rider so was with a horse that wanted to go-go. Our group had many opportunities to tolt as well. My husband chose the beginner group and his horse was perfect for him and moved out at a slower pace. He always felt safe. Our guides were knowledgeable and helpful and went above and beyond to make sure everyone was ready to ride. After our ride we were even able to go back in with the horses and take pics or just hang with them! Communications via email was top notch! You were never left guessing about any detail. Love the pickup / drop off option at your hotel

One of the best horse riding tours I’ve been on. The group was small so we were able to talk with our guides more. Marie and Sophie were fantastic guides! The horses were very well trained and sweet so our ride went smoothly!

My little girls go horseback riding and so I wanted to give them a nice ride on the back of these fantastic Icelandic horses. What a wonder!!! everything was perfect: the scenery, the horses, the attendants, the equipment provided etc.

This was a wonderful experience. Our tour was through the lava fields. Part of the group, including my son, broke off as inexperienced riders and walked on a separate trail. My daughter-in-law and I stayed with the more experienced riders and continued on a separate trail where we got to trot and tolt. The views were incredible! I found Ishestar was very organized and professional, always checking on us and our comfort level. Our guides gave us some nice trivia about the horses and the area. The horses were great as well, very friendly and calm. Can't say enough good things about Ishestar!

Amazing experience went with my non riding husband the pick up was easy and on time. When we arrived at the centre we were asked about out riding experience and given a suitable horse. I went with the experienced group and we did tolt and had some lovey fast canters. Husband went with the slower group and just walked and admired the scenery. Had a nice drink when we got back and were then dropped back off at the pick up point. Very friendly staff would go there again.

We got super lucky and had a sunny but snowy day to enjoy a trail ride on Icelandic horses! Our family of 4 has various levels of riding experience and they accommodate people of different levels within the group. Three of us got to try a faster pace of riding called tölting. They have layers you can wear for added warmth such as overalls as well as rain gear available. The guides were very friendly and helpful. Excellent experience for horse lovers and newbies alike! This was a quick drive from central Rekjavik.

It was truly wonderful. We haven’t ridden in decades and these Icelandic horses were so gentle and well behaved. The guides are all brilliant too, clearly love the horses and Speak excellent English. I would highly recommend. High quality stable and the horses are very well looked after. Lots and lots of horses so they get good rests and are not constantly being used. Scenery was lovely too, but the real treat were the gorgeous ponies.

This was an incredible experience and allows you to really immerse in Iceland. The horses are very well kept, the guides are super knowledgeable and friendly. They really help prepare you for a good ride. We spent hours in the country of Iceland and going through lava fields, this is a bucket list event. The tour guides also will take pics of you during the tour and they are really good.

We had a wonderful experience on our horseback riding tour! They picked out horses that matched our skill level, which was inexperienced. We enjoyed the scenery as we rode on the friendly horses! The staff were helpful and kind. They also responded quickly to messages I sent them with questions.

Beautiful riding facility near Reijkjavic. Very friendly and competent team. Healthy, fit and very good horses for beginners and advanced. Beautiful riding area directly around the complex. Highly recommended for anyone who would like to ride on Iceland.
