Experiencing the Ijen Crater at night with my partner was magical. The trek was challenging but manageable, and we supported each other along the way. At the top, the turquoise crater lake mixed with thin mist created a romantic atmosphere. Good Feelings Adventure carefully organized our route, making the journey comfortable and smooth. The sunrise added an unforgettable moment and stunning views!

Seeing the Blue Fire at night was incredible. The uphill trek was tiring, but when the blue flames appeared, all our fatigue vanished. Sunrise at the crater’s edge was calming and breathtaking. Good Feelings Adventure organized the trip professionally, and their staff was always responsive. This moment will stay in my memory forever!

Good but became hazardous on the rocky trail down into the crater as there were wayyy too many people and some were being reckless and careless along the trail.

If you are looking for an adventure that feels like stepping onto another planet, the Ijen Blue Fire tour is an absolute must. We began our ascent at 2:00 AM under a blanket of stars, and while the hike is a bit of a workout, reaching the crater rim is nothing short of magical. The highlight, of course, is the Blue Fire. Seeing those electric-blue flames dancing at the bottom of the crater in the pitch black of night is a rare natural phenomenon that photos simply cannot capture. Following the descent into the crater, we were treated to a breathtaking sunrise that revealed the massive, turquoise acid lake—the largest of its kind in the world. The contrast between the rugged sulfur mines, the hardworking local miners, and the ethereal beauty of the landscape is deeply moving. It’s a challenging trip, but the reward is a lifetime of memories.

If you are looking for a sign to hike Ijen Crater, this is it! I recently joined a trip to see the famous blue fire and the turquoise acid lake, and honestly, the photos don't even do it justice. It was a challenging but deeply rewarding experience that I’d do again in a heartbeat. The hike started in the middle of the night, and while the trail is quite steep at some points, reaching the rim just as the sky started to turn purple and orange was magical. Seeing the Blue Fire with my own eyes felt like being on another planet—it’s such a rare, natural phenomenon. Once the sun was up, the view of the massive sulfur lake surrounded by the rugged crater walls was absolutely breathtaking. A huge shoutout to our local guides who were so patient and kept us safe. Watching the sulfur miners work also gave me a whole new level of respect for the locals. It’s a tough climb, but the sense of achievement (and the view!) is worth every drop of sweat.

Since it’s a night hike, the group dynamic feels different quieter but still connected. You walk at your own pace, but still feel like part of the same journey.

The hike feels slow and quiet at first, then suddenly you reach the crater and see the blue fire glowing. It’s simple, but somehow feels really special when you see it in person.

There are moments where you just pause, look around, and realize how quiet everything is compared to everyday life.

I did a solo midnight trek to Kawah Ijen and it was really good. Started off super cold under the stars but the hike warmed me up quick. When we reached the crater the blue fire looked unreal up close, dancing in the dark with that soft crackling sound while the cold wind was still blowing. My guide was friendly and professional, he guided me safely the whole way and patiently answered all my questions. The team picked me up right on time from the hotel, gave me enough time to enjoy the pretty turquoise lake at sunrise, and finished with some warm fried bananas. Definitely a once-in-a-lifetime experience worth every step.
