Villa Escudero
Located approximately 2.5 hours south of Manila is the quaint and historic Villa Escudero. Hidden amidst coconut palms, the villa is reminiscent of old plantation life. The Villa Escudero resort is nestled deeply into its placid natural surroundings, offering breathtaking views of the Philippine countryside year round. One of the major highlights of the tour is a family museum of archaeological artifacts and private collections of antique relics from periods ranging from Pre-History, Spanish colonial times and World War II. Local folks will serenade you on board water buffalo-drawn carts that transport you going to a man-made waterfall that provides hydroelectric power to the plantation. Lunch is served at the foot of the falls on tables set right on top of the gently flowing water. Their waterfall restaurant sits at the foot of the Labasin Falls where guests can enjoy local cuisine at handmade bamboo tables while clear spring water runs over their feet. The falls are so people friendly, guests can even lie against the rushing water covered wall for quick massage or post-lunch rinse off. This is one resort where no shirt and no shoes are no problem.

We loved this tour to the Douro Valley, especially the lunch at Quinta Do Lodeiro! The lunch in the beautiful home was the best food we had in Portugal! Sonya at the Quinta Do Lodeiro had a dry sense of humor but was a hoot! Our guide,Tanya, was fun and very informative! She is one of the best we have had! We also enjoyed the visit to Amarante even though it was raining a lot and the winery tasting and tour although it was a bit early before lunch. The boat tour was relaxing too.

The place is amazing and beautiful. The environment is wonderful... the trees, the pony, the waterfall, the restaurant, the cow carts, the pool, everything is amazing... and the most amazing thing is the tour guide Mis Via Jane, from Mabuhay, she was wonderful in her behavior, information, sense of humor, and management of the trip... she did not hesitate to provide information, suggestions, and organize the time and the activity, so all thanks to her, as well as the driver, they were all amazing

I am so excited that we took this excursion to Villa Escudero! The entire trip was exceptional from start to finish. We learned all the rich history of Villa Escudero. We were so impressed with the grounds and the museums as well as all the staff who all have lineage to the Escudero Family. I have to say that our Tour Guide Kenji, was absolutely FIRST RATE! He was not only informative and knowledgeable about Villa Escudero but also vastly knowledgeable about the Philippines as well! He also had such a great sense of humor that it made the trip a pure blast! Victor, our driver was also 2nd to NONE! He navigated all the roads and streets of our trip like a true pro. He was efficient and safe . We were definitely in good hands! The trip was well organized, and the itinerary allowed time for not only exploring the grounds and museums of Villa Escudero but we also had plenty of time to lounge and relax in the pool and hot tub! The food at the luncheon at the Falls was amazingly delicious and the Falls were spectacular!!! This definitely is a must -do trip when visiting the Philippines ! Thank you so, so much for the opportunity!!!!

❤️ The overall experience was made great by our lovely guide Joanna and driver Malone, it’s a long day from Manila if you’re thinking about it but our guides made it very easy and relaxing. The experience involves an amazing plantation with Spanish architecture, museum (full of weird and wonderful period pieces), ride on a cart driven by a water buffalo and a great buffet lunch with your feet in the cool relaxing water from a hydroelectric damn. Yes touristy but still a good day trip to see something different if you’re in Manila. We have had multiple trips with yolo travel now and would definitely recommend the company as we have had very good experiences both times. Don’t expect the museum to be a world class one, it’s a dusty collection of all kinds of bits and pieces but the inclusion of this down not taint the whole day experience, just take it in and enjoy the quirkiness.
