5.00It's always lovely when a tour guide can fit herself seamlessly into a group, gently moving you from place to place without ever making you feel rushed or herded. Cheryl was not only delightful to be with, she had a rich knowledge of Scottish history to contextualize and add depth to what we were seeing. Her storytelling kept us entertained between stops as we explored the abbeys and small towns of the Scottish borderlands. I was particularly impressed with the way she engaged the staff at various sites, having them add their knowledge to her own. It's easy to think "I'll just rent a car and plan my own excursion" but we could not have replicated the incredibly easeful, fun, and educational day we had traveling with Cheryl. Highly recommend!

5.00I had the pleasure of doing this tour departing from Inverness and absolutely loved it. The day was perfectly paced and covered some incredible spots, starting with the Clava Stones, then on to the brilliant Cawdor Castle and the stunning Dunrobin Castle. Visiting Culloden Battlefield was also incredibly insightful and moving, and finishing with a lovely picnic in Avoch was the perfect way to end the day. Cheryl was incredibly knowledgeable about Scottish history, as well as genuinely lovely and friendly. She’s also super flexible and really shapes the tour around your interests and preferences. As a history fanatic myself, having a historian as our guide was a dream come true. I learned so much and would highly recommend this tour to anyone visiting Scotland, especially if you love history and want a deeper, more personalised experience.
