What To Expect

This is a great rafting trip for the family or the first time rafting experience! The intensity of the rapids on the Lower Poudre vary from beginner or intermediate like Class II rapids to intermediate in difficulty like Class III rapids. Rocky Mountain Adventures professional guides and specially selected rafts ensure that both first time and experienced rafters can join the fun. A whitewater rafting trip on the Lower Cache la Poudre makes a great family outing. The water can be cold early season. Wetsuit rentals are available.

I have been white water rafting a handful of times in other parts of the country. RMA had very helpful staff. Our guide Sam M. was outstanding! Sam is very knowledgeable, experienced, skilled, has good humor, entertaining, super sociable, friendly, and very helpful. Our group was 4 guys we didn't know plus my son and I. My son (20+ years old) has some CP in his legs and his balance can be challenging. Sam didn't bat an eye, made sure my son was in a good spot, safe throughout the trip and was patient with us. Sam knew the river very well, got us into good position and nobody in our boat even fell out. It couldn't have gone any better! There was a nice mix of 1, 2, & 3 class rapids. There were a couple of short breaks and a portage during the 2 hours on the river but the time flew by. I highly recommend this company, trip and especially our guide Sam for first time rafting. I look forward to doing the class 4 trip later this summer.
