5 out of 5 stars – Absolutely unforgettable! Arctic Adventures delivers magic on Langjökull Glacier Where do I even begin? On Friday, February 13, around noon, we climbed aboard this beast of an 8-wheeled, heated super truck (a converted 1980s monster ) and embarked on an epic journey to the glacier. The cabin was cozy and warm, with panoramic windows everywhere so you never miss a moment of the stunning scenery. The ride was surprisingly smooth despite the rugged terrain, and our narrator/guide (sorry, I blanked on her name—she was hilarious and incredibly knowledgeable) made the drive fly by with fun facts and witty commentary. We cruised past towering mountains and frozen waterfalls, climbing higher until we reached the edge of this breathtaking snow-covered glacier—a true “wow” moment that words can barely capture. Along the way, we passed year markers showing the glacier’s retreat over decades, which really drove home the scale and beauty of it all. The truck dropped us right at the entrance to the ice cave—no long hikes required. After a short safety briefing and time to take in the massive opening (complete with anti-slip mats), we descended into pure magic. I can’t recommend this highly enough. Inside, our female guide shared fascinating history about glaciers, how they form, and the clever engineering behind creating and maintaining these accessible ice caves. She took phenomenal photos of our group using our phones, holding a diffused light for that perfect professional glow—such a nice touch! There was zero rush; we spent plenty of time exploring, yet it somehow felt like it flew by. We were lucky to have extra time on the glacier surface while waiting for the next snowmobile group. No one felt hurried—we all just stood there oohing and aahing at the stark, otherworldly landscape until the cold finally drove us back to the toasty super truck cabin. (Quick funny aside: I had to “contribute” some yellow snow. To my surprise, nothing froze solid or fell off—turns out Icelandic cold isn’t quite as brutal down there as I feared. Broke off some icy “champagne” from the ol’ yellow snow maker… just kidding, but it was a memorable pit stop!) One of the crew members gave a solid recommendation about local restaurant, recommending the “the Iceland bar” for exotic cuisine—great insider tips. I enjoyed Whale and reindeer - HEY! - when in Rome…they were both good and memorable. The whole glacier expedition felt perfectly paced—time flew, yet we savored every second. I’d do it again in a heartbeat. Huge thanks to the entire Arctic Adventures team for the hard work behind the ice cave, the incredible super truck experience, and making this day so fun and memorable. **5 out of 5 stars… plus an extra 10 for the effort and joy they bring to every moment!** Highly, highly recommended.

  • An experience you need to live before glaciers are gone

Everything is expensive in Iceland, but sometimes, it’s well worth it. We booked the night before as we felt it would be a missed opportunity not to live that experience. Karen (the guide), Mikael (the apprentice) and Diddy (the driver) were all very knoeledgeable and professional. I forget the name of one of the guides, dressed in yellow, I’m sorry for that (I think her husband has a lamb farm). There was also another guide (a friendly French guy) for 2 girls from Scotland that were supposed to go on a ski-doo tour. Karen was very funny (she called it dark humour, but that’s my type) and explained every bit of information we needed, wanted and maybe even didn’t need at all, but made for the ambience. Very interesting information about the manmade cave and glaciers was provided. The ride in the large truck is a memorable one. The visit at 10am with the ride from/to Húsafell is perfectly timed for a half-day activity, which will leave some time for hiking or sightseeing in the area after the visit (we chose to hike to a « secret » hot pot where we had the chance to relax under heavy snowflakes falling down on us).

  • TERRIBLE agency NEVER book with them

They canceled my tour via a very late email, which i repleid and got NO answer. Then I tried calling multiple times and sending various emails back confirming that I wanted to reschedule my tour. They never replied. I tried calling again and they wouldn't pick up their phone, I emailed again with no response, I when to chat on their website with no answer, until the FINALLY picked up their phone and they said that I could not reschedule as the tour had been already completely booked and that they couldn't give me a slot. Knowing well i had a flight and had no other days to choose from, they said i could settle with another tour they had as an options but is was no where near what we wanted. I accepted this change as is was already very late due to THEIR fault, and communicating with them through their website chat or via phone call was already EXTREMELY difficult.... Also important to note that their customer services staff was incredibly rude, unwilling and unhelpful, they did not bring me a solution whatsoever leaving me with the only option to fully cancel and miss out on bookin with other agencies due to the last minute of this tour. I would never book a tour with this agency ever again

Highly recommend. Excellent guides with great knowledge and stories! :) We had about 1 hour in the cave which was plenty of time. Prior to departure, I recommend the cafe next door to the meeting point which has a soup and bread buffet. It was perfect for a quick lunch right before departure.

A unique experience. Stunning from the Klaki base camp to the glacier itself. And even more impressive to enter the glacier and be able to walk inside it. With very friendly guides who gave very interesting information about the glacier and about Icelandic culture and folklore. The only but: they didn't give much room to make photos and videos on the glacier

The tour was amazing. We were provided with any gear that we needed to make sure we stayed safe and dry. The guide, Joe, was very knowledgeable and shared a great deal of information. He was also funny. The road to the glacier is very bumpy so be prepared. The length of the tour was excellent.

  • Nice experience. Different man maid tunnel.

Our glacier trip was excellent with very knowledgeable hosts, great huge off-road vehicles and a beautiful view inside the life of a glacier. And it snowed on us in August at the top of the glacier. Highly recommend!
