We are UNABLE to take these items due to space on our minibuses
Join us as we venture South to Culloden Battlefield, Clava Cairns, Cawdor Castle. (Urquhart if Cawdor shut) Loch Ness and some Highland Cows, perfect for that Outlander Fan.
Avoid the hustle and bustle of a larger coach group and tour round the highlands in my 16 seat minibus.
We try to get the most out of your day out so departure times will vary depending on your ships arrival. We will be standing across the road from port security gates at 8.30 for a sharp departure and return around 3.30pm.
We will have brightly coloured umbrellas so can not be missed.

What To Expect
Cawdor Castle
Our first stop is Cawdor Castle and its a-maze-ing gardens. Don't get lost now we need you back on board for the rest of the tour. If Cawdor is not open early April this will be substituted with Urquhart Castle.
Clava Cairns
Dare you touch the stones? We are not covered by insurance if you head back in time to 1746.

5.00Been picked up with Avril personally with a great car at the port and then made a very special Outlander tour with her. Of course, also on time back (for those who have concerns about their ship leaving). With previous knowledge of history, my wife was also able to follow the knowledgeable lecture on the history of Scotland. Likewise, we were taught a lot about land and traditions. We have seen all the relevant places of Outlander. Grandiose also the tomb of McKenzie and also Culloden Battlefield. A really highly recommended tour for Outlander fans with a lot of interest in Scottish history. Thank you Avril for this unforgettable time with you

5.00This was a brilliant tour as part of an Outlander tour. Many places seen from the series and also original places of e.g. McKenzie's. Learn more about the historical background and Scottish traditions. Avril, our guide, has a great knowledge of Scotland. We highly recommend this privately guided tour. Always happy 🥰

5.00We were picked up exactly as described at our port. Lauren our driver was very courteous and knowledgeable which made our excursion very pleasant. All stops were explained to us, we learned quite a bit about the highlands. We would definitely recommend this tour! P.s. Lauren thanks for restaurant recommendations for our next stop in Edinburgh. Brown restaurant was a winner.

5.00We had a perfect day with Lorraine. Pre-information on the meeting point and pick-up at the meeting point worked great. For the individual destinations we received information and interesting facts and always had enough time to explore everything ourselves. Were back on time. I can only recommend the tour.

5.00The pickup at the terminal worked great, I found Alistair directly. With me 3 more guests boarded in Invergordon, 2 guests we collected in Inverness. The tour was well timed, we had enough time at each point to see everything. Alistair explained everything calmly and was also a good driver. Unfortunately, we haven't seen Nessi. I can recommend the tour 100%.

5.00This was our second tour with Avril's Travels and it didn't disappoint. Lorraine guided the tour expertly imparting a wealth of historic information laced with humor. Such an enjoyable day. While other tour groups waited in line, Lorraine's knowledge of the sites allowed us to be ahead of the queue. A fabulous day. Would highly recommend this tour.

5.00We were a group of 11 from Canada on a cruise and this tour was an absolute highlight of our trip. With only one day in Inverness/Invergordon, we wanted to maximize our time, and this tour delivered. Our guides Lorraine and Avril were both fantastic: knowledgeable, engaging, and great at answering questions. The five stops were perfectly timed, with beautiful scenery and history shared along the way. The small-group vans were comfortable, well organized, and felt very safe. Most importantly, we got back to our ship with plenty of time to spare. Highly recommend!
