The tour operator canceled the tour 5 days before the scheduled departure date which also happened to be the day we were flying from California, USA to the UK. The reason our tour was canceled was due to the low number of participants. My husband and I were so heartbroken to hear this! They offered to move us to the next day’s tour but unfortunately, the hotel accommodations we booked for the overnight stay in Portree had a minimum of 7 days notice for free cancellation or forfeiture of our prepaid reservation and they could not accommodate moving our reservation either. Even if we ate the cost of the rebooked reservation (at our own expense) and booked new accommodations, the pickings were slim and 2-3x the cost on short notice. Since we were set on seeing Isle of Skye and trying to keep close to our schedule, we opted for a single day tour with the same tour operator hoping to avoid last minute research and scrambling with a new tour operator and hoping that if we stick with the same tour operator they’d try to make up for the cancellation. They did not. I had booked so many things around this tour half a year in advance and was sorely disappointed with our experience and outcome. I’m sure my review review sounds completely dramatic but we spent thousands of dollars to travel half way around the world and spent countless hours planning because everything says Isle of Skye gets booked up. I don’t know if we’ll get to visit Scotland again let alone Isle of Skye and that’s why this review is so sad. To other customers looking at booking this: if you’re doing an overnight or multi day tour with this operator, maybe don’t book your own accommodations and go with theirs in case they cancel on short notice? To the tour operator, hopefully they read this and do a better job of reaching out to customers at least 10-14 days in advance if they’re going to cancel a tour if not seeing enough participants signed up or help customers with rebooking accommodations when canceling.

I did the tour with Owen and it was wonderful! Everything was well planned and we had the perfect amount of time at each stop. Owen was so knowledgeable about each place we visited and about Scottish history in general. He answered all of our questions and I learned so much! The Isle of Skye was beautiful and we even got to stop at a few extra places that weren’t on the original itinerary, including seeing highland cows. I’m glad I did the tour instead of driving myself because the roads on Isle of Skye are very narrow and the island is so much bigger than I realized. I highly recommend this tour and having Owen as your guide! It was one of the highlights of my trip to the United Kingdom.

We were fortunate with beautiful weather and a small group for our tour. Stewart provided the perfect combination of narrative, Q&A, and relaxing music. Lots of beautiful planned stops AND Stewart went out of his way to make sure we all saw our special requests (hairy coos!). Definitely prepare for a tremendous variety of weather conditions with multiple layers and trails in all stages of repair, etc. ABSOLUTELY recommend ⭐️ ⭐️ ⭐️

Richard is THE BEST tour guide you could possibly ask for! My wife and I went on this tour August of 2024, and realized just today (June 2025) while talking about what a great time we had on our trip, that we had neglected to leave a review. I’m going to fix that error now! Richard was incredibly knowledgeable while also making the facts he told us fun. He also drove very safely, which put my wife at ease as she is a bit anxious when it comes to other people driving vehicles she’s in. Richard was also incredibly impressive in the fact that he never once needed to consult a map or gps. He knew every mile of the road like the back of his hand. We were lucky enough to take an alternate route-which Richard suggested-on the world’s only operating turn-table style ferry! Truly, the tour was incredible, and we had a fun and unexpected connection with Richard in that he once lived in the same area that we live in now. Very cool. Would highly recommend this tour, and would urge everyone to request Richard!!

This 2 day tour was well worth the time. Jack S was our tour guide, he was knowledgeable and friendly. We had more than enough time at each stop. The scenery was beautiful!
