What To Expect

【Sample Tour Schedule – On the Day of the Tour】 ① 9:00 – Pick-up at Uehara Port or your accommodation (Uehara area only) ↓ ② 9:20 – Arrive at the SUP/Canoe field ↓ ③ 9:30 – SUP/Canoe exploration begins! ↓ ④ 10:30 – Exploration ends. Head to Barasu Island next! ↓ ⑤ 12:00 – Return to the port. Lunch break begins. We'll introduce some recommended lunch spots! ↓ ⑥ 13:00 – Break ends. Depart for Yubu Island ↓ ⑦ 13:30 – Arrive at the water buffalo cart station ↓ ⑧ 13:45 – Enjoy a relaxing ride to Yubu Island by water buffalo cart ↓ ⑨ 15:00 – Leave Yubu Island via water buffalo cart ↓ ⑩ 15:45 – Drop-off at Uehara Port or your accommodation ※ Schedule may vary depending on weather, tide, and the number of participants. Late arrivals or no-shows without prior notice will be treated as cancellations and may incur a cancellation fee. If you are running late, please contact us in advance. Final Confirmation We will contact you by the day before the tour with details regarding the meeting point and time, using the phone number or email you registered. Please ensure your contact information can be reached within Japan. If you do not receive any communication by 6:00 PM the day before, please contact IRIOMOTE ADVENTURE PiPi using the method listed on your ticket. Hotel Pick-up If you request hotel pick-up, your meeting time may differ. Please confirm the exact time the day before using the method provided on your ticket. Participation Requirements SUP: Ages 12–59 Canoe: Ages 3–59 Pregnant individuals, children under 3, and those with pre-existing medical conditions cannot participate. If you have any concerns, feel free to consult us in advance. For Those Who Are Anxious If you’re worried about physical strength or have a fear of water, please don’t hesitate to consult us before the tour. Equipment & Safety Life jackets are mandatory for all water-based activities. If you are unwilling to wear the required safety equipment, you will not be allowed to participate. For safety reasons, please follow the guide’s instructions at all times. Weather Conditions The tour will proceed even in rainy weather. However, it may be canceled if the field is deemed unsafe. About Barasu Island Barasu Island is greatly affected by tides, so the tour schedule or activity order may change. The size of the island constantly changes depending on sea conditions. Therefore, the tour plan may be changed to an alternative on short notice. We appreciate your understanding. Clothing & Preparation Please wear clothing suitable for getting wet. There are no restrooms at the site, so please use one in advance. Participation while under the influence of alcohol is strictly prohibited. Shower Facilities Showers are available at our office. Please bring your own change of clothes and towel. Note: Boarding the ferry in wet clothing may be refused. Languages Tours are conducted in Japanese or English. Thank you for the tour! I went as a solo traveller and even if I didn’t speak Japanese I had a lot of fun. Mangrove canoeing was a new experience and we saw a lot of different animals on the way. My guide Tomochin was very kind and fun. He sent many photos about our day. The nearby typhoon cancelled the section to Yubu island but this tour made the trip to iriomote worth it even in bad weather.

We were worried about the weather because a typhoon was coming, but the day turned out to be a beautiful, clear day! On the morning mangrove tour, we took a leisurely canoe and SUP ride through the sunlight filtering through the trees to the waterfall. We had a great time listening to the guide's stories and getting splashed by the waterfall. In the afternoon, we went to Miracle Island. Because of the tide, it felt more like a sandy beach than an island, but we had a great time watching the fish! (The waves were a little high.) The guide repeatedly called out to us about dangerous points and points to be careful of, so we felt at ease knowing that safety was being taken into consideration.

I participated with my children! We had a wonderful time exploring the nature of the mangrove forest, canoeing, and splashing in the waterfall! Thanks to our guide, Mr. Chiba, who was kind, polite, interesting, and fun, it became a wonderful memory. I'm glad we got lots of photos.

It was a much more fun tour than I had imagined! The guide was kind and polite, and taught me a lot about Iriomote, so I was very satisfied. I would definitely like to participate again!

I wanted to do mangrove canoeing on Iriomote Island, so even though I booked Pipi's tour on short notice the day before, they were very accommodating. Our guide, Xavi, shared lots of interesting facts about Iriomote, and we were able to enjoy the activity 120%! Thank you very much! What's more, after the tour, they dropped us off at the accommodation where we were staying that day, which was very helpful! The guides' friendly atmosphere and smooth service made it a fun time. I would like to use them again when I come to Iriomote.

I was taken care of by the instructor, Shu. We went canoeing and to Barasu Island, and were surprised by all the things I had never heard before, such as the nature and creatures of Iriomote Island, the connection between mangroves and coral, and the stars. Thank you for being so kind to me! The photos you took were also wonderful. I will come again.

It was my first time mangrove canoeing and trekking on Iriomote Island. I was surprised by the sudden rain and thunder, but it was a very enjoyable experience, and the kind support and detailed explanations from our guide Shu made it a lot of fun. I'm amazed that you can walk through a strong river while holding a fifth grade elementary school student! I'm glad I got to hear a lot about Iriomote Island. I think it's a very recommended tour.

Our guide, Chill, was so informative and friendly. He spoke English so well, and provided us with a good insight into the features of the area. He was very efficient and we really enjoyed out time in the cave and in the mangroves. He also took many photos and sent them to us afterwards. I would highly recommend this trip and our family agreed this was a definite highlight from our tine on Iriomote.
