Remote, back to nature type of experience ! White sandy beach, palm trees & lots of vegetation to provide shade , a delicious BBQ lunch. Snorkeling, swimming and a walk around the private island such a lovely day. The people were so nice and kind and friendly and made you feel so welcome. It was a great experience and I highly recommend it!

We visited Dany Island today from our cruise ship. We booked the tour independently via Get Your Guide. Julien was waiting for us outside the cruise terminal as promised. We were then transferred via a rather tatty old van(!) 😆 to the embarkation point (journey time around 30 minutes) for the small boat ride to Dany Island (journey time 10 minutes). Once on the island we were shown where to find the snorkelling gear etc and then we were free to swim, snorkel, or simply sit on the beach. I was nervous about snorkelling as I was badly bitten by a trigger fish in the Maldives as few weeks ago, but one of the crew came out with me which made me feel safe and it was a lovely experience. At noon we had a barbecue lunch with chicken, beef, rice and sweet potato salad and it was all lovely. Julien and the whole team were exceptionally friendly and professional whilst at the same time providing a very laid back experience. Some people on the tour were fussing about getting back to the ship in good time, but I had no doubt at all that we would be returned in good time, which we were (with over an hour to spare). If you have mobility issues (which luckily we don’t) you may find clambering in and out of the boat rather difficult in the surf, but the crew totally looked after everyone. If you want a genuine Vanuatu experience, and can live without a plush air conditioned coach, definitely book this. The snorkelling is superb and the whole Dany Island team are just wonderful.

It was such a special trip! Approaching Dany Island on the boat got me seriously excited, finally stepping onto what looked like a straight up picture-perfect tropical island. It wasn't until we got closer that the beach bar and those nice villas came into view. They've nailed it. Preserved the nature perfectly while still running a proper resort there. One of the first things that hit me was how calm and clean the water was, unreal clarity. We were lucky enough to meet the owner Dany himself while he was visiting. Right away you could see how genuinely he cares about the place and the people. Real connection with the locals and a solid commitment to keeping this beautiful island conserved. We snorkelled and spotted a turtle gliding by, then later this huge one, easily the size of a dining table, just looking calm and content as it swam past. We watched it for a good while. Lunch was incredible. Steak, fresh salad, and local fruits that tasted absolutely delicious. Maybe the appetite from all the swimming helped, but we still talk about that meal. The trees on the island are beautiful and completely untouched, it's clear they let nature take its course and keep the natural beauty intact. As we were boarding the boat to leave, two dugongs came right up close, then we noticed even more stunning corals and fish in an area we hadn't snorkelled yet. We're really looking forward to going back and staying overnight next time. It's hands down one of the most memorable days of any trip we've done. Such a beautiful place in a beautiful country.

Dany Island is the perfect excursion for those who want to snorkel and relax. It’s a quick trip (about 45 minutes) from the pier. The water is beautiful and the reef is in good shape. Spectacular corals! The island’s small staff cooked us a wonderful bbq chicken lunch. The island dog and cat kept us entertained. The hammocks are plentiful and a plus. We also took advantage of the kayaks. Highly recommend if you love to snorkel and want an almost totally private place to unwind! Pickup was quick and easy and they got us back to the ship with plenty of time to spare.

Exceeded expectations! Even though it rained, hostesses were accomodating and experience was extremely enjoyable. We will be returning.

The snorkelling was good, the service was slow, the boat trip out was bumpy and wet, and the food, chicken and rice. was cheap, and had too much sugar. Not good value for money.

Surreal, tranquil and absolutely stunning! My partner and I did the day trip with snorkelling and lunch. We loved every tiny piece of our experience; exploring around the island beaches and rock shelves, snorkelling the reef, devouring a delicious lobster lunch, and simply resting in the shade of the coconut trees with a Tusker in hand. The conservation initiatives are a fantastic endeavour and we know they will result in great outcomes for the local ecosystem. It was fascinating to see some WW2 relics, learn the history of the island, and chat with the staff - Dany and his crew were most friendly and accommodating. Dany's Island is a refreshing break from the commercialised tourism industry, like going over to a friend's place and getting the local's treatment. If you are looking for a peaceful, serene, and wholesome experience then you don't have a choice, Dany's Island is a must. We'll be back one day.

We were staying at Turtle Bay Lodge and decided not to Kayak across due to tides but booked the boat transfer day tour with addon of Lobster for lunch and cold tusker. Dany and his crew were awesome, we learnt lots on our island tour about the plants, history and coconut crabs. We were shown the beautiful bungalows that are near completion over looking the surf break. The tiki bar is really cool. We found a sunny private spot for some sunbathing and we're hypnotised by the thousands of little hermit crabs all shapes, sizes and colours going about their day in the coral. You really need to chill and relax to see them. We jumped in the water and snorkeled the entire reef inside the outer reef. The best snorkelling was halfway back towards the surf break. Healthy coral and all types of colouful fish. Be careful not to get to close to surf break especially on outgoing tide, the current coming back was strong. We devoured our lobster which was delicious. Siesta under the trees and transfer back to Turtle Bay. Blissful, stress free day on our own tropical island! Look forward to visiting again and staying over on our next trip to Santo. Thanks Dany for creating a special sanctuary.

I had a wonderful trip to Dany Island and the blue hole. The whole team were fabulous and so helpful. Its a little spot of paradise I am so glad that I picked that tour. The massage I had from Rebecca was amazing, the lunch tasty and snorkelling wonderful. Dany was so kind and happy to share his story around the island and Mathias a great driver and guide. I would definitely go back again!
