Our Isle of Skye tour endeavours to show you the very best of Skye and Lochalsh including An Corran Beach, the Old Man of Storr, The Quiaraing, and the world-famous Fairy Pools!!

Fairy Pools
Our first stop will take us to the world-famous Fairy Pools. We aim to get her earlier than the crowds so that you can have a more enjoyable experience. These crystal-clear rock pools are fed and connected by a series of waterfalls, originating from the nearby Black Cuillin Mountains. We will allow around 90 minutes to explore the fairy pools. The initial walk is up hill and of moderate intensity, so this part of the trip will not be suitable for those with mobility issues. It will take around 15-20 minutes to walk to the first of the fairy pools from the carpark. There are more pools to explore further up the path. If you don’t feel that the fairy pool walk is for you, then our driver will take you to an alternative location not far away!
Sligachan Old Bridge
Our next stop on the Isle of Skye will take us to an area filled with folklore and natural beauty. Wash your face in the magical water at Sligachan bridge or simply marvel at the imposing Cuillin Mountain Ridge behind. We will also show you some of the best angles for getting an unbelievable photo. (That’s if the misty isle doesn’t live up to its name and swallow the mountains!)

Our tour of the Isle of Skye with Michelle and Finella was the best part of our trip to Scotland! We contacted them just a few weeks before our trip and luckily they had room for our group of 10 on one of their public tours. They picked us up at our rental house in Sligachan and helped us with lunch reservations in Portree. They navigated the difficult roads on the Trotternish Peninsula with ease and provided great history and context for the amazing sites. We also loved their music playlist and listened to the songs all week! Highly recommend Tartan Trailblazers for any private or small group tour in Scotland

Driver was excellent on those dicey roads, felt very safe. The guide was personable, knowledgeable and accommodating. A great group of tourists helped too! A fun way to see the incredible sights of Skye. Jean and Susan

Mention that the tour goes rain or shine, and you can expect rain/mist. Quite a bit of hiking (in rain) to the Fairy Pools.

If you're visiting Skye and wondering whether this tour is worth it, the answer is absolutely yes. This was hands down the best tour I've ever been on. Tartan Trailblazers is a small company and two wonderful Scottish women. Showed us all there is to see, and their passion for Skye and the Highlands shines through in everything they do. Our guide was from Inverness, a true Highlander, and she was incredibly knowledgeable, kind, and engaging. She didn't just drive us from stop to stop—she immersed us in the history, folklore, culture, and beauty of the Isle of Skye. We saw so much more than we expected, including all of the iconic locations as well as hidden gems we never would have found on our own. The day was perfectly paced, and we never felt rushed. At each stop we were treated to Scottish snacks and local treats, which was such a thoughtful touch and made the experience feel even more authentic. A special shoutout to the driver as well, who was equally friendly, welcoming, and professional throughout the day. Together they made us feel like guests rather than customers. We've done multiple tours throughout Scotland, and this was our favorite by far. The scenery was breathtaking, but what truly made the experience unforgettable were these two amazing women and the genuine care they put into creating an authentic Highland experience. If you're staying in Portree and want to experience the very best of Skye, book this tour. You won't regret it.

From start to finish the tartan trailblazers provided our family with an excellent tour of the isle of skye for multiple days. The transportation was comfortable, the driving was exceptional, and the activity schedule was flexible. We especially loved the special song pairings for each activity in the car rides between tour locations. Fin felt like she was part of the family by the end of our three day tour of Portree and Inverness with tartan trailblazers.

I had only one day for the Isle of Skye and this was the best way to spend it! Would not have been able to do half of it on my own. We saw all the main attractions, beautiful landscapes and there was an option to choose either a seaside walk or a castle visit (I took the latter and really enjoyed it, especially the gardens).

What an incredible tour of the Isle of Skye! Michelle and Finella made us feel welcome from the very start of the tour, with their great humor and fantastic storytelling. The way they show us their island and must-see-sights, teach us their local slang and let us try local food and drinks, show just how much they pour of themselves into the tour! The tour feels personal, and we couldn’t be happier we chose it (as opposed to the bigger companies). They were also very flexible with the itinerary as needed, and we felt very safe on the winding roads with Michelle as our driver! Even for non-native speakers, this tour was easy to follow! This was a great experience, and we highly recommend this tour!! If you are in doubt, just book it! If we’re ever back in the Isle of Skye, we will definitely book another tour with Michelle and Finella!
