We had a great tour with MacLeod Heilan - The Isle of Skye and our stops along the way were fantastic. Our guide shared a lot of Scottish history and detail and a lot about the country and countryside. It was beautiful and wild country that we saw and experienced. They were flexible and had some stops and options tailored to our group. Sounds like they have other great tour options too. We do highly recommend them!

We had the best time on MacLeod Heilan Tours! John was great working with us when we had to modify our dates. Andy, our tour guide, made sure we saw everything we could possibly hope to see. - and we saw a lot! What a beautiful place! This was a bucket list trip for us, and it surpassed our expectations. I think a private tour is the absolute best way to see the Isle of Skye, and I highly recommend MacLeod Heilan Tours for an amazing time!

Gosh, I don’t know where to start with the compliments. John was an absolute delight to your us all through the Scottish Highlands for 3 days. He is highly personable and kind. He definitely goes out of his way to make sure you are comfortable, fed, and will keep you on schedule without making you feel rushed and still not miss any of the sites. Due to tardy train schedule, we unfortunately parley missed the viaduct train go by, but that was the only mishap. We would have stayed to wait, but had the frrry to catch. Glencoe was a dream, and the sites on the Isle I will never forget, John and McLeod Highland Tours is the best and I will book again.

  • Incredible Experience!

From the inquiry about a tour with Macleod Heilan Tours throughout the tour itself, we were very happy with the professionalism and great communication with this company. Our tour guide, John, having been born on the Isle of Skye, possessed a vast knowledge of the History of Scotland, the Highlands and Isle of Skye. Also one of the most pleasant and convivial persons I’ve ever met. He was a safe driver and knew the lay of the land very well and offered so much information about each stop. We never would have had such an in depth experience had we tried to go to these places by ourselves. The automobile was wonderful: very comfortable, clean and offered a smooth ride. John took us to all the places we’d been interested in seeing, and even revised the itinerary to include Culloden Battlefield. We hadn’t been on a tour like this, and while we knew the basics, I feel that we were happiest here during our recent two week Scotland trip. I am missing the Isle of Skye terribly. We highly recommend this company and will seek out another experience with Macleod Heilan tours when planning our next trip to Scotland.

This Three day tour was definitely the highlight of our week long trip to Scotland . John was an amazing guide!. Having been born on the Isle of Skye, he is a plethora of information when it comes to the History of Scotland , the Highlands and Skye. Our time spent with him was fun, informative and exciting. When the weather changed and roads were blocked he was calm and adapted our tour to make sure we saw all the beautiful scenery of Skye. John is truly a remarkable young man. He shared his life experiences as did we ,and we instantly formed a real connection. If you are looking to plan trip to this part of the world there is no-one I would recommend more to help you plan this trip and accompany you on this adventure .

This tour far exceeded our expectations. We booked the 3 day Isle of Skye private tour directly with Macleod Heilan Tours. The itinerary was excellent and included most of the stops on our wish list. John was prompt with communications prior to the tour and offered suggestions and flexibility with the stops. Our guide, Marco was excellent. He provided us with a great locals view of history, folklore and hidden places. Marco has an obvious passion for sharing his beautiful country with others. We thoroughly enjoyed the many stops, walks, and of course the gorgeous scenery. Stops were adequate and we never felt rushed This tour was truly the highlight of our trip. We highly recommend it!

We just got back from our second trip to Scotland and it was nothing short of magic. I want to give the biggest shout out to John from Macleod Heilon Tours who brought us around Skye on a 4 day private tour. We do a lot of tours when we travel and my husband and I agree that this has been hands down the greatest touring experience we have ever had. John is an incredible professional, a phenominal story teller and has great sense of humor. He has so much knowledge of his country and shares it so well. When my kids are asked what their favorite part of the trip is they respond with their tour with John!
