What To Expect
Caldeira das Sete Cidades
The dirt trail tracing the rim of the Sete Cidades crater is an iconic feature of this breathtaking Azorean landscape. Winding along the edge of this massive volcanic caldera, the path offers some of the most spectacular and sought-after views in the Azores. This unpaved trail varies in width and condition, offering a more natural and rugged hiking experience compared to paved roads. As you follow it, the panorama unfolds continuously. On one side, the vast expanse of the crater floor stretches out, often shrouded in mist or patchwork with green pastures. On the other, the dramatic drop reveals the two legendary lakes – the vibrant green Lagoa Verde and the deep blue Lagoa Azul – potentially joined by a thin strip of land or water, depending on the season and viewpoint.

5.00This company/trip was recommended by someone we met at the airport. They said it was a must. So we booked! From the moment Goncalo picked us up to the moment he dropped us off - it was an amazing adventure. The weather was not the greatest and we weren’t sure how it was going to be. Goncalo was able to pivot and make sure we had a good time and catch all the sights we could. Regardless of the heavy fog and rain, the day was EPIC. If you are worried about the weather- don’t. The guides are fantastic and tailor the day around the weather so you still see a lot of the Azores. 5.00We had an absolutely amazing day on the Full Day Jeep Tour with Eduardo! The tour was filled with breathtaking views, hidden gems around the island, and delicious local food where you could truly taste the love and care put into every meal. Eduardo was incredibly kind, thoughtful, and considerate of everyone’s needs throughout the day. He paid close attention to the weather and fog conditions and adjusted the tour accordingly to make sure we still had the best possible experience. His passion and pride for being Azorean shines through in everything he does, he truly has a heart of gold. We’re so grateful to have had such an incredible tour guide and to have been paired with such a fun group of people, which made the whole experience even more enjoyable. 5.00Absolute 10/10. Have been fortunate enough to take many guided tours around the world and our guide Eduardo has reset the standard. We didn’t have the best weather but he still made it an amazing experience. His knowledge and passion for the island were apparent from the beginning and made the day absolutely incredible.
