Mount of Olives Rich in history and sacred significance, the Mount of Olives is one of Jerusalem’s most revered sites. According to tradition, this is the place where God will raise the dead on Judgment Day. At the summit, the Church of the Ascension (built in 1910) offers some of the finest views across Jerusalem. Descending the slopes, you’ll encounter the Church of the Pater Noster, marking the spot where Jesus taught his disciples. Farther down lies the Church of Dominus Flevit, believed to be where Jesus wept for Jerusalem. Continuing on, the striking onion-domed Russian Orthodox Church of Mary Magdalene adds to the Mount’s architectural and spiritual beauty.
