This jetski adventure is for the more refined experience. You will depart Long Beach with your guides on your Seadoo headed across the open ocean to the quaint city of Avalon on Catalina Island. Experience dolphins and sealions on your way to this beautiful town. Once you arrive, you have a plethora of options to choose from during your 3 hour stay, including parasailing, golf cart rental, and numerous restaurants and shops to occupy your time. What an amazing experience! I have been wanting to do this for the past 3 years, and I am so glad I finally returned to L.A. to do it. Everything about it was just incredible…. especially our guides and the tons of dolphins we rode with on our way back from Catalina! Just make sure to allow for a recovery day afterwards, as it is a full body workout! I did the Two Harbours trip (with the snorkelling add-on), and I fully intend to return within the next couple of years for the Avalon trip (with the parasailing add-on)!

This is a must!! The ride to and from Catalina was very feasible, and the guides were fun, respectful, funny, and knowledgeable.

We went August 23 and saw no dolphins or whales. This was an EXTREME experience and I would say it was not beginner friendly and not friendly for anyone who isn’t fit, prepared to deal with harsh elements, and adequately dressed (jet ski gloves, eye protection, and a full body rashguard with shorts—at the minimum). Upon our return many people (myself included) had bloodshot and sunburned eyes (despite wearing sunglasses the entire time), shivering / chattering teeth from cold, and blisters on hands. Be prepared!!! My whole body hurts after this tour and my husband’s too, and we both are very fit and have jet skied for years. This tour was a punishing experience at sea. The jet ski ride over is tiring and fast paced, the water is choppy and our inner thighs and lower back got sore from the pounding of the jet ski. You really have to hold on. Several people fell off their jet skis, but got back on and made it. We took a lovely break at Avalon for lunch and walking, then returned to the jet skis. The pace on the return trip was too fast and at the first rest stop, the guides realized one jet ski got lost. This was not the fault of the guides—they were all doing their best—but it’s ridiculous that the skis had no gps trackers. Why would the company not put some kind of location device (an air tag and radio at a bare minimum) on each jet ski? We waited on the ocean for an HOUR, far from any land with nothing to see or do, while the guides searched for the missing couple on a ski. We were cold, the wind was intense, and the waves picked up to 5 foot+ swells. Everyone in the group was some level of hungry, burning in the sun, freezing from the wind and waves crashing into our faces, tired and soaked. Coast guard sent 4 helicopters and eventually located the lost party. We continued an extremely punishing jet ski ride back home—the waves by this point were beyond anything my husband (who has jet skied for decades) and I had ever experienced. Weather was simply not suitable for a jet ski but we had no choice but to go. Imagine a cold salt water fire hose spraying at your face, while you’re crashing over 5 foot waves on a jet ski, for over an hour. I dissociated and lost track of time. It sucked. It hurt. I was cold and miserable. I cannot tell you how relieved I was to be home after a brutal 4 HOURS for just the return trip. We left Avalon at 2pm and arrived at 6pm. Again, the guides were doing their best and not at fault. But at this price point—about $500 per jet ski-it was a really rough experience. The company 1) should have emergency trackers/GPS and radio on each ski 2) should have had the remainder of the group (over 10 jet skis, with several couples) escorted home instead of making us wait for 1 hour while the weather deteriorated considerably and put us at risk for injury. Overall, I wouldn’t sign up for this experience again, and I’m a very adventurous person. I’ve jet skied and scuba dived all over the world and had many intense experiences, but this wasn’t worth the money or time in my opinion. Maybe we just had bad luck—I think we did— but I want to be honest about it.

This was an amazing experience! Saw tons of wildlife on the way, and the dolphins raced our jet skis multiple times. The waves can be a bit jarring so I wouldn’t recommend for those with fragile backs. Other than that, highly recommend!

Amazing experience. I’ve always wanted to Jetski to Catalina Island and finally had a chance to. It was a close friends birthday and he wanted to do this activity over going out for a wild night. I agreed to join him. We did the Two Harbors route. Our meetup time was 7:30AM and we start heading out around 8AM. My last time riding a Jetski was when I was in high school so it’s definitely been awhile. I was worried how long the ride was and if I would be able to survive it. I get tired very easily these days. The first 30 minutes were then best times of my life. Speeding close to 50 mph maintaining a good 40 mph. But I got tired quickly. The remaining time was exhausting. I was hoping to be on the island ASAP. We got to the cave where people swam. That’s where I lost my sunglasses. Bummer but I knew it was going to happen so I took my cheap ones. We finally get to the island at around 10AM and I’m finally glad we are on land. We quickly grab a bite to eat and a nice cold beer before resting up for a ride back. Our meetup time was 12:45 PM and we started heading out around 1PM and we got back to Long Beach around 3PM. I was glad to have had an opportunity to do this but I would definitely not do it again. Was super hard and not beginner friendly. A four hour ride is tough for all levels regardless of what people say or think. My fingers kept getting numb so I couldn’t keep accelerating and since I didn’t have my sunglasses on the ride back I had to keep wiping my eyes. The guides were great. Very helpful. My whole body was sore for days but I do not regret this amazing experience.

We did the Avalon trip as a couple and it was unforgettable. You leave Long Beach early in the morning and within 15 minutes, we were surrounded by dolphins jumping right next to our jetski. Literally hundreds of them, it was insane. The ride over was about two hours but it didn’t feel long at all because we were constantly spotting sea lions and even saw a whale in the distance. Once we docked in Avalon, we explored the town, grabbed fish tacos, and did a bit of shopping before heading back. It is not hard to ride at all, my girlfriend didn’t want to drive so I rode the whole way and it was just fun, not exhausting. Highly recommend this adventure to anyone visiting Southern California.
