Poland was once a home to one of the largest Jewish communities in the world and a center of this thriving civilization was Kraków. Its historical Jewish district is a jewel of Jewish art and architecture. A place where 7 ancient synagogues, that amazingly survived the destruction of World War II and the Holocaust, stand witness to the test of time.
During our tour we will discover the historical context of the local Jewish community, talk about the death and destruction of World War II but also witness the amazing Jewish culture’s revival in contemporary Kraków.

A brilliant 2 1/2 hours with Magda whose knowledge was exceptional. We felt really immersed in the tour with an impression for the residents during the Nazi occupation. You just pay what you think the tour is worth. A must-do on a trip to this great City. We saw loads of areas we wouldn't have visited without the tour. Recommended

Joanna was an outstanding tour guide - so good that we went again with her in the afternoon on the Old Town and Wawel Hill walking tour! The Jewish tour was excellent, very informative and gave us a detailed insight into the plight of the Jews during WWII. A 2.5 hour walk around the city focusing on the Jewish quarter and the Ghetto finishing at the Heroes Square. Very moving.

Matt communicated brilliantly the rich centuries old Jewish culture lost to the Nazis and the horrors of ghetto life using his knowledge and witnessed testimonies .

An excellent tour that brought the recent history of the city to life. After a trip around Auschwitz which was strangely devoid of emotion this was a trip where you felt the history around you. Well done to Walkative for bringing these difficult events to life.
