Explore Taiwan's northeast coastline and the mountainous town of Jiufen by night! Before the sun sets, stop by Yehliu Geopark, a relaxing seacoast attraction home to a number of unique geological formations. Then, head to Jiufen, where the lantern-lined alleys of this old mining own come alive at night, creating a magical experience said to resemble scenes from the Miyazaki classic, "Spirited Away." After dinner, relax at a traditional tea house and enjoy views of the illuminated and elevated town before returning to your accommodation.

Great trip out of Taipei. Guide Melody was excellent. Atmosphere at Jiufen hectic but fun, contrasting with an evening spent at a great tea house overlooking the valley below.

Fantastic tour with my very knowledgable and caring guide, Epson, learned a lot, thank you for all your help! We visited the Geopark first with all the rock formations, then headed for Jiufen for a stroll in the night-lit old town and the tea ceremony. A great half-day tour, highly recommended!

We had an amazing tour of Yehliu Geopark, followed by the village of Jiufen. The highlight of Yehliu Geopark was the walk that we did after viewing the more heavily trafficked rock formation area. The walk was serene, we could hear exotic birds chirping, and after a steep uphill walk, the ocean view was stunning. Our guide Steven recommended tasty delicacies in the Jiufen market, like bean sprout noodles and vinasse pork buns, that we would not have thought to try ourselves. Steven was patient, kind, and very knowledgeable about Taiwan’s history and culture. He led us through a secret passageway (an old mining tunnel) to escape Instagrammers at the lanterns. We found ourselves in a quaint local tea, where we enjoyed a prime view of the ocean and the park where we had been earlier. Dusk turned into illuminated night time as Steven guided us through a traditional Chinese tea ceremony. A perfect way to end the day!

We did the half day tour which started with pick up at our hotel in Taipei at 1.30pm, a stop at Yehliu Geopark and then sunset/teashop visit in Jiufen and return to Taipei about 8.30pm. Communication was great from beginning to end. The car was really clean, our guide was accommodating, informative and really friendly. Our only (minor) complaint is that Steve possibly walked a little fast! Initially we felt we had to keep up but soon realised he would wait for us if we wanted to stop and browse along the way. He knew all the shortcuts, tried to avoid the many crowds wherever possible (which we really appreciated) and took us to all the great photo spots. Our teahouse in Jiufen was a real treat down an alleyway only a local would find and we loved the sunset views we got. Thanks for a great afternoon!
