Take a thrilling ride through Joshua Tree National Park in a comfortable open-air Hummer. Please note: this tour is unavailable December–February due to frigid high-elevation temps. During these months take our Joshua Tree Scenic Tour in our heated van. It’s often 20–30°F cooler in the park—dress in layers!
Depart from the Palm Springs Art Museum at 8:30 am (with a scenic, air-conditioned shuttle ride) or save with our Yucca Valley Welcome Center departure where the open-air portion begins. The full tour lasts about 5 hours when taking our shuttle.
Explore stunning desert landscapes with a National Park–approved guide and discover the area’s unique ecology and history. With over 100,000 happy guests, this is the ultimate Joshua Tree adventure.

Temperatures are about 20 to 30° cooler in the higher elevations so we recommend wearing layered clothing.
Wear comfortable, closed-toe walking shoes and light, layered clothing in the summer and warmer clothing in the winter

What To Expect
Joshua Tree National Park
Our shuttle van will take you to the city of Joshua Tree where we trade for our H-1 Military Hummer to complete your adventure. We climb to the top of a breathtaking overlook called Keys Point that will give you a stunning view of the valley below and a view that stretches all the way to Mexico.
Keys View
Gawk at a view that stretches for hundreds of miles. From this high point in Joshua Tree you can see as far as the Salton Sea and all the way down to Mexico on a clear day. You might even be able to make out your hotel on this escarpment that borders the famous San Andreas Fault. Look below this ledge we will stop at and you will see the fault line itself which stretches for over 800 miles.

Duration: 3 hours
Sunset Tour: This is a Sunset tour that leaves at 2 pm from the Welcome Center in Yucca Valley and returns about 5:30 pm.

5.00Without this tour, we would have had a very one-dimensional experience of Joshua Tree NP. Learning why these trees grow only in this limited eco system, the history of some colorful residents and the geology of the rock formations brought this unique landscape to life. Add in the fun of riding in the Hummer (be prepared for wind) and Denise's FABULOUS play list, it was a truly delightful day!

5.00It far exceeded my expectations. The tour guides knowledge of the park its animal, trees geology and history really made the trip through Joshua park come alive. An added plus was his knowledge of rock climbing which came in handy as we got watch both climbers and boulders do their thing. Finally his play list of music on the drive out of the park really captured the moment and made for a good trip.
