I had a wonderful morning doing the cooking class with Samon. We started by eating breakfast and shopping for fresh ingredients at the market, and tasting different ingredients along the way. We then returned to Eco Lotus, where I learned to prepare and cook the beef lak lok, fish amok and red chicken curry. Samon was a great teacher and I loved learning about the local culture. I would also recommend a stay at Eco Lotus if you have the opportunity.

Today we booked the cooking class including market visit with local Feeling. Samon is an absolute professional and he goes to the market every day. For this alone, it is worth booking the course. We bought lots of fresh food there and were allowed to try some on site. In his little paradise the "Eco Lotus Kampot" we harvested fresh vegetables from the garden. We learned a lot from cooking. The great thing is that it's very simple when you know how. The curry was as intense as we have ever eaten in Germany. The other food was delicious too. It was just fresh ingredients 👍 Great recommendation. The accommodation also looks very cozy. We felt very comfortable there.

The cooking class with Samon was brilliant. He was very informative and showed us around the markets in the morning to pick out all the ingredients! We went back to the lodge to cook our 3 course lunch which was great fun and he made it very easy to follow. It was definitely worth what we paid for, I would highly recommend.

Had a lovely morning browsing and sampling at the market and then cooking with Samon. It was all at a calm pace with a lovely breeze and the peaceful sounds of the rural side of Kampot, even though it is only just beyond the city. It is a very special space, and the food tasted all the better for it.

I had a great morning with Eco Lotus. The tour of the market and the cooking class was great. Samon is very nice, smiling and pedagogue. The dishes we cooked were all delicious and in addition we were in a beautiful setting! I hope to come back one day to stay in one of their bungalows. Thanks again to Samon and the whole Eco Lotus team!

We met Samon at the market and bought what it takes. Fresh coconut milk, vegetables, fish, meat, pepper paste. All in small quantities. Lettuce leaves individually. It wasn't just because of the cooking class, it's like this. In Cambodia, you don't stock up, you buy fresh every day. Then take the tuktuk out of town to Samon's house. An idyll! Pure vacation. We cooked three dishes: The “national dish” fish amok (a mild curry with fish), “lok lak” (a beef dish) and a red curry with chicken. All incredibly delicious. By far the best I had on my trip. I'm sure I'll cook that at home.

Amazing experience. Gone to the market first, where I tried several desserts and learned more about the local products. Then, went to the amazing place where we cooked, in the middle of a small village. Samon was very helpful and the meals we prepared were fantastic.
