Pennington Bay

Pennington Bay sits on the southern coastline of Kangaroo Island. It is a stunning bay that is famous for its surfing due to the powerful swells that roll in. Kangaroo Island Brewery

Kangaroo Island is home to Kangaroo Island brewery and is the first cellar door microbrewery on Kangaroo Island! Nestled a short distance from the main town on the island, Kingscote, it is a haven for craft beer enthusiasts and food lovers alike. Spread across a sprawling 20-acre property, the brewery offers ample space for children to play freely, while couples or groups of friends can seek out a tranquil nook in the paddock, on the deck or a spot inside.

Bay of Shoals Winery

Bay of Shoals Wines is a picturesque vineyard located near Kingscote on Kangaroo Island, offering a serene coastal setting and a rich selection of locally produced wines. Overlooking the stunning Bay of Shoals, this vineyard is known for its premium cool-climate wines, including varieties such as Shiraz, Sauvignon Blanc, and Chardonnay. Stokes Bay

Secluded Stokes Bay is a hidden paradise waiting to be uncovered on Kangaroo Island’s north coast. Winner of Australia's top beach for 2023, this picture-perfect cove is an idyllic spot to relax beach side and admire the crystal clear water and white sands.

Snelling Beach

Snellings Beach is the most visible and most popular on the north coast. The North Coast Road runs right past the western end of the beach, providing parking and beach access, while a lookout on the road provides an excellent view of the entire beach.

Western River Cove

Western River Cove is one of the nicer beaches on the entire island, and well worth the winding drive out to the coast. The 200 m wide, north facing cove is accessible by car, with a car park and picnic area located behind the beach. A foot bridge crosses the creek to the backing dunes and a track runs along the western rocks to the point. The cove contains two beaches. The main beach is a 160 m long, north facing sand beach, backed by dunes extending 150 m inland over the valley flats. The small river flows down the eastern side of the beach, while the beach itself is moderately steep, with a narrow continuous bar.

Flinders Chase National Park

Flinders Chase National Park is essential for any Kangaroo Island adventure. This expansive wilderness features iconic Remarkable Rocks, Admirals Arch and a long-nosed fur seal colony. Perched on ancient rocky platforms above the sea, Remarkable Rocks’ surreal shapes and golden orange hues offer extraordinary photo opportunities. Admirals Arch at Cape du Couedic is not only an impressive rock arch, weathered over thousands of years, but also home to a colony of long-nosed fur seals.

Vivonne Bay

Once voted Australia’s best beach, Vivonne Bay’s six-kilometre-long U-shaped beach is the postcard-perfect spot to soak in the best of island life. Here, white sandy shores meet gently lapping waves, perfect for photo ops!

Emu Bay Lavender

Emu Bay Lavender Farm is a tranquil haven on Kangaroo Island, where visitors can immerse themselves in the beauty and soothing scents of lavender fields. Set against the picturesque backdrop of the island’s countryside, the farm offers a peaceful escape, allowing guests to wander through vibrant lavender gardens. Dudley Wines

Established in 1997, Dudley is Kangaroo Island's Pioneer Winery. The Cellar Door is situated 12 kilometres from Penneshaw on the cliff tops of Kangaroo Island's stunning north coast, a not to be missed experience for visitors to the island. Dudley Wines reflect the personality of the Island and the winemaker, fifth generation Islander, Brodie Howard. Being the owner/winemaker for over 20 years has given him the freedom to explore many techniques and develop his own unique winemaking style. His range of wines are diverse, and carefully crafted to capture and emphasise the abundant fruit characteristics presented by the Island’s Terroir.

False Cape Wines

False Cape Cellar Door offers premium wines and is situated in an idyllic setting, nestled amongst the vineyard and gum trees on the picturesque Willson River, surrounded by native vegetation and only 12 km from Penneshaw and the ferry. The Kangaroo Island vineyard was established by Julie and Jamie Helyar in 1999 with North Facing Slopes, Terra Rosa soils over Limestone, cool climate along with sustainable practices creating the ideal conditions for producing great quality grapes and wine. Their latest releases of Cabernet Sauvignon, Cabernet Merlot and Riesling continue to impress, all receiving 94 points from James Halliday Wine Companion 2023.

American River

The seaside fishing village of American River, Kangaroo Island, or 'The River' as the locals call it, is surrounded by bushland. Alongside Pelican Lagoon’s peaceful shores, it is a nature-lover’s paradise with several hiking trails within the town. Walk the independence trail heading south from the town centre, or head north to the Cannery trail along the coast. Look out for kangaroos and wallabies, and endangered glossy black cockatoos, often seen around town.
