This tour sees you transfer from Adelaide via Sealink Connect bus service from Adelaide, ferry across to Penneshaw and then join the one day coach tour of Kangaroo Island. On the island our coach driver and host Will kept us informed and entertained with local stories. The seal colony visit was followed by an excellent lunch. We then we visited the Remarkable Rocks and Admirals Arch before returning for a wildlife encounter. The return ferry and return to Adelaide made for a long day - we arrived back about 11pm. I would suggest the two day option if you have the time and stay on the Island. Don’t underestimate the 18km Ferry ride each way - I suspect this could get very rough. Overall a lot of fun.

We had a fabulous day which was worth the early start. The scenery on the island is fantastic. Loved the remarkable rocks and all the wildlife, especially the sea lions and fur seals. Ironically we did not see any kangaroos in the wild on kangaroo island but there were lots at the wildlife sanctuary and you were able to feed them. Overall a long and tiring day, but well worth it.

We had a wonderful time seeing the sights of Kangaroo Island, especially loved feeding the kangaroos and petting the koalas!! Our lunch was delicious and the coach bus rides were very comfortable. I would highly recommend this experience when you are in Australia.

Visiting Australia to see my daughter, we took a trip to Adelaide and booked the Kangeroo Island Full Day Experience by Ferry Including Lunch. We paid $378 and understood the trip would last 16 hours. To say we were disappointed would be an understatement. There are many positive reviews on your site and no negative ones, which is surprising to us. Perhaps you do not publish the poor reviews. Our dismay at the length of time we were on the coach, in comparison to the length of time at attractions, was paramount. We understood that it would take 3 hours to get to the island by coach and ferry, and that another coach would meet us off the ferry to transport us around the island. What we hadn’t bargained for was the fact that we were expected to be on the coach for 6 hours and only at the attractions for a maximum of 3 hours. This is an extremely poor ratio and definitely not value for money. The first stop, at the seal sanctuary, was for only 20 minutes. Then lunch (45 minutes), which was tasty but certainly not filling enough to last all day. A chicken salad and a manufactured cheesecake! We weren’t even provided with a drink – had to purchase our own. We were then driven to two free tourist attractions to explore and take photos, allowed a maximum of 35 and 40 minutes respectively at these sites. Finally, we arrived at the highlight of our trip: the wildlife sanctuary, only to be told by both the driver and the wildlife employee that we had 30 minutes. In the end we were permitted 40 minutes which was nowhere near long enough to enjoy the wonderful wildlife. We could have spent two hours or more there and were so disillusioned that the visit was cut short. It beggars’ belief that you feel you can charge $378 for such a small reward. You should certainly be warning people before they part with their hard-earned cash, that the trip ratio is so weighted to sitting in a cramped coach all day, being lectured about things you cannot see. I would not recommend this trip unless you are happy to sit on a coach all day, with the occasional break to explore the island’s attractions.

The day was great! Our guide Joanne told us an incredible amount of facts and anecdotes about the island, wildlife and history! The animals and nature on Kangaroo Island are impressive and even if the day is long, this trip is absolutely worth it. The food was excellent and all transfers worked smoothly. Thanks for an unforgettable day on this wild beautiful island!

Be prepared for a huge day out. It’s a lot of ground to cover in only one day. Kangaroo Island is well worth a visit. All the places we were taken to were interesting. We didn’t get long at each place but that’s to be expected given the length of time required to fit it all in. I loved the wildlife centre. I highly recommend holding a koala if you get the opportunity.

The experience was very enjoyable, mainly because of our tour guide, Richard. His knowledge of Kangaroo island was incredible and his stories were so entertaining I was not bored even though the bus trip was long. I would like to say that there were many chances for water and snacks. There were drinks and snacks at most places except Remarkable Rocks and the archway. There were drinks and snacks on the ferry. Richard also let us stop at IGA before the ferry home where there was many things to buy. I noticed some reviews told us below said otherwise, so I wanted to make sure you knew there is places to eat and drink. The lunch is a chicken salad and cheesecake. Dietary restrictions wete catered to and the food was delicious. They even had a bar. Definitely try this tour if you love animals. We got to be on the beach with the seals and I patted a baby koala. I would also like to say it was refreshing to see there were wheelchair access ramps so the experiences catered to a wide range of people. Well done for creating such an excellent experience.

Well worth the time and money spent on this tour. It was professional, timely and all the aspects of a group tour that made it fun and exciting. Yes it’s a long day however, it never dulls and goes by clockwork so the day went so fast. Enough time at each venue. The Adelaide bus driver was informative and easy to listen to. He held a captive audience at 639am. The KI guide/driver , Hamish, was outstanding. Hamish was serious yet funny, approachable, patient, knew his stats and his commentary flowed so smoothly. Again he showed his passion for the island, his job and the information he delivered.
