You will be picked up from Beppu Station or your accommodation and brought to Jigoku District Park in Beppu City. After a short Nordic walking lesson, the walk begins—passing by the open-air hot spring spot Tsurunoyu and continuing all the way to Myoban Onsen.

Along the way, stop at Emisu Shrine to offer a prayer. At Myoban Onsen, enjoy tasting the famous onsen-cooked eggs and the local specialty Jigoku-steamed pudding. Afterward, return to Jigoku District Park and finally be dropped off at Beppu Station or your accommodation.

After a brief lesson in Nordic walking, we begin our walk to Myoban Onsen.

This is a free open-air bath located halfway along the walking course. We won't be taking a bath, but we'll give you a brief introduction.

The guides Uchi and Naho were very knowledgeable about the environment and hot springs in the area. We visited a mountain shrine that was over 150 years old. I noticed the shrine was made of stone instead of wood like many other shrines. We had some local delicacies that were cooked using the steam from the local hot springs. There was no issue with translation as they speak both English and have an audio translation device. At the end of the tour they were nice enough to bring my back to the train station and dropped me off at my hotel as I was pretty tired. This tour is good for both the young and old. The Nordic walking style is a full body workout and serves as good cardio. Uchi and Naho were extremely kind and accommodating. I would recommend this tour.
