Visit one of the world's 21 Biodiversity Hotspots at Kanneliya Rainforest. The forest complex designated as a biosphere reserve in 2004 by UNESCO.The Kanneliya complex is the last large remaining rainforest in Sri Lanka. The Reserve today, is sans one of the most popular attractions.The forest reserve consists of a series of parallel hills and valleys ranging in elevation from 60m to 425m above sea level, and extending to an area of approximately 5306 hectares. It acts as a catchment for many rivers and streams; including Gin Ganga and Nilwala Ganga, that have their sources within the forest, and flow toward the west and the east of the forest respectively.
The forest boasts a diverse range of flora and fauna. You might see monkeys, snakes, chameleons, extensive birdlife and a vast range of tropical trees, plants and flowers and a beautiful waterfall...

5.00Beautiful Rainforest in Sri Lanka. If you are a true nature lover, you must go to see this forest.If someone like to hike this is a best place for it. This place is very remote village side guide provided by government they can speak little English not like us:, but it's ok they know the forest very well and showed everything From hotel pickup to guided tour everything well organized recommend this tour

5.00We had an amazing tour to the Kannelyia Rain Forest today and highly recommend to book a tour with Roshan and his team. The trip was well organized, great communication beforehand and we got to spend an amazing time in the rain forrest, seeing the beautiful nature and even a few animals. There was no rush at any point and we finished the tour with a lovely lunch next to the river.

5.00The driver was nice, the guide was good, the lunch was filling, the trek was taxing physically, but there was plenty to see. All in all, all good. The pickup was easy to arrange, no extra money was ever asked (no hidden costs, but we still tipped the people involved). We saw monkeys, birds, snakes, lizards, etc. The track was clean, and the guide picked upped the trash she saw. Showed pride of the place. We enjoyed.

5.00Amazing experience - can only highly, highly recommend!!! We were in Sri Lanka mainly for surfing and relaxing, but decided to undertake an adventure spontaneously. The tour was extremely well organized, the staff was very friendly and the experience mindblowing. If you have a spare day, don’t miss out on this!!!

5.00It was a very good day. The rainforest tour was wery good, we say monkeys, Cameleon, snake, fish and many more. On the way back we stopped at a tea factory what was very good also.

5.00The driver to the rain forest was good, drove well, was informative, helpful and patient. He took control of all the formalities (tickets and so on) and did not rush me while I had a swim. The guide at the park was very good also. She spotted things I wouldn't have seen and had good knowledge of Kanneliya Rainforest. Very good.
