Mughal Gardens

Mughal gardens of Nishat and Shalimar. Built in between a period of 14 years the two gardens are a heritage left behind by the erstwhile Mughals, whose taste for laying exquisite gardens was fascinating. With a backdrop of the sprawling Zabarwan mountains, the gardens boast of green turfs, blooming flowers and cascading water fountains.

Dal Lake

Evening visit to Dal lake to experience and house of traditional Shikara ride in the lake.

Gulmarg

Post breakfast at hotel in Srinagar, drive towards Gulmarg. Discovered by the Kashmiri romantic poet in the 16th century who was inspired with its grassy slopes covered with wild flowers. In winter Gulmarg looks more beautiful due to heavy snow fall. And turns into India's premier Ski resort in winter. The Gondola Cable Car (optional) offers rides to the upland meadows of Kongdori and beyond to the top of Apharwat range to a height of 14000 ft for viewing the Himalayan Peaks in summer and for downhill skiing in winter. One can have Gondola ride (to be booked advance online on your own) from Gulmarg to Khalinmarg. Return to Srinagar by evening. Overnight and dinner at Hotel in Srinagar.

Sonamarg

Post Breakfast Will proceed early towards Kargil. Enjoy the spectacular view in Sonamarg, post which we’ll drive through Zodjila Pass. After crossing the pass you’ll enter Ladakh region. Enroute you’ll see Tiger Hill, War Memorial and Drass village. Reach Kargil by evening. Kargil is the one of the two districts of the Ladakh region, and was historically a major halting station on the Leh-Srinagar route. Overnight and Dinner in Kargil.

Zoji La Pass

Zoji La Pass: It is a high mountain pass located on the National Highway 1D between Srinagar and Leh. It offers a scenic view of the snow-capped mountains and is a popular spot among trekkers.

Drass Valley

Drass Valley is a scenic valley located in the Kargil district of the Indian state of Jammu and Kashmir. It is situated at an altitude of 3,280 meters above sea level and is often referred to as the "Gateway to Ladakh". The valley is surrounded by snow-capped mountains and is known for its natural beauty and historical significance. Drass Valley is famous for being the second coldest inhabited place in the world after Siberia. The winters here are extremely harsh and temperatures can drop as low as -45°C. The best time to visit the valley is during the summer months when the weather is pleasant and the valley is in full bloom.

Post breakfast in Kargil town drive straight towards Leh. The first on today’s route would be the magnificent 30 feet rock cut statue of Maitreya Buddha also known as Mulbekh Chamba. Post Mulbekh continue your drive towards Leh pass through Namkila and Fotula passes. Arrive Lamayuru by early noon. Known as the the moonland of Ladakh, Lamayuru is famous for its unique terrain and the centuries old monastery of Lamayuru. Post lunch Lamayuru enjoying a scenic drive along the George of Indus Valley passing through the beautiful villages of Sham region. Stop at Nimoo to witness the magnificent view of the confluence of Indus (Also known as Singge Khababs) in Ladakhi and Zanskar river. You can also opt for a thrilling session of rafting here in the chilly river of Zanskar river. Post halt at Nimoo proceed towards Leh. Enroute halt at Magnetic Hill and Gurduwara Pathar Saheb. Reach Leh by evening. Overnight and dinner at Hotel in Leh.

Mulbekh Monastery

The main attraction in Mulbekh is the Mulbekh Monastery, also known as the Mulbekh Gompa. The monastery is a popular tourist destination and is famous for its ancient rock carvings of Buddha. The rock carvings date back to the 8th century and are considered to be some of the oldest surviving examples of Buddhist art in the region.

Lamayuru Monastery (Yuru Gompa)

The main attraction in Lamayuru is the Lamayuru Monastery, also known as Yuru Gompa. The monastery is one of the oldest and largest monasteries in Ladakh and is known for its stunning architecture and beautiful wall paintings. The monastery also hosts an annual festival called Yuru Kabgyat, which is a major attraction for tourists. Apart from the monastery, Lamayuru is also known for its stunning natural beauty. Confluence of the Indus and Zanskar Rivers

The location is also a popular spot for white-water rafting and offers some of the best rapids in the region. The best time to visit the Indus Confluence is during the summer months, from May to September, when the weather is pleasant and the water levels are ideal for rafting.

Magnetic Hill

In reality, this is an optical illusion caused by the magnetic field of the hill that appears to pull vehicles upwards. This is why the hill is often referred to as the "Gravity Hill".

Leh Royal Palace

The Leh Palace is a historical palace located in Leh, the capital city of Ladakh in the Indian state of Jammu and Kashmir. The palace was built in the 17th century by King Sengge Namgyal and is one of the most iconic landmarks in Leh.

Thiksey Monastery

The Thiksey Monastery was founded in the 15th century and is a beautiful example of Tibetan architecture. The monastery consists of 12 levels and contains numerous statues, thangkas (Tibetan religious paintings), and other artifacts. The most notable feature of the monastery is the Maitreya Temple, which houses a 15-meter-high statue of Maitreya, the future Buddha.

Hemis Monastery

The Hemis Monastery was founded in the 17th century by the king of Ladakh, Sengge Namgyal, and it is considered to be the wealthiest and most important monastery in the region. The monastery is built in a traditional Tibetan architectural style, with colorful prayer flags fluttering in the wind. The monastery houses a large collection of ancient Buddhist artifacts, including thangkas (Tibetan religious paintings), statues, and manuscripts. One of the most notable artifacts in the monastery is a rare copper statue of Guru Padmasambhava, which is displayed only once every 12 years during the Hemis Festival. The Hemis Festival, which is held annually in June or July, is a major event in Ladakh and attracts thousands of visitors from all over the world. The festival features traditional music, dance, and mask performances, and it is a celebration of the rich cultural heritage of Ladakh.

Gyap-Thago Heritage Home

fternoon visit to Gyab Thago heritage home for a traditional Ladakhi culinary experience. Gyap Thago is the heritage halt of more then 200 years old house in a stok hamlet, which is almost 20 Km's away from Leh. A legacy of the great ancester of ladakh continues to live in this magnificent house. The heritage dinner includes a tour of this ancient home, which is followed by a pure vegetarian Ladakhi lunch, starting with the traditional alchohlic brew called ”Chang”.

Shanti Stupa

The stupa is built in a traditional Tibetan architectural style and is made of white marble. It is divided into two levels, with the first level containing a small Buddha statue and the second level containing the Dharmachakra or Wheel of Law. The stupa is surrounded by beautiful gardens and offers panoramic views of the surrounding mountains and the city of Leh. Visitors can climb up to the stupa through a flight of stairs, or take a winding road that leads up to the hilltop. The stupa is especially beautiful at sunrise and sunset when the sun's rays illuminate the white marble and the surrounding landscape.

Khardung La

Khardung La Pass is a high mountain pass located in the Ladakh region of the Indian state of Jammu and Kashmir. It is one of the highest motorable roads in the world and is a popular destination for adventure enthusiasts. The pass is located at an altitude of 5,359 meters (17,582 feet) above sea level and connects the town of Leh with the Nubra Valley. The road to the pass is steep and winding, and it offers breathtaking views of the surrounding mountains and valleys.

Diskit Gompa

Diskit Monastery, also known as Diskit Gompa, is a 14th-century Buddhist monastery located in the Nubra Valley of Ladakh, in the northernmost part of India. It is the oldest and largest monastery in the Nubra Valley and is a popular tourist attraction. The monastery is located on a hill overlooking the town of Diskit and is home to a statue of the Maitreya Buddha, which is believed to be over 500 years old. The statue is 32 meters (105 feet) in height and is one of the largest statues of the Buddha in Ladakh.

Hunder Sand Dunes

The Hunder Sand Dunes are located near the town of Hunder and cover an area of about 4-5 square kilometers. The dunes are surrounded by snow-capped mountains and are home to a number of rare and exotic plants and animals, including the double-humped Bactrian camel, which is native to the region. One of the most popular activities in the Hunder Sand Dunes is camel riding. Visitors can take a leisurely ride on a Bactrian camel through the sand dunes, while enjoying the beautiful views of the surrounding landscape. The camel rides usually last for about an hour and are a unique and unforgettable experience.

Turtuk

After a lavish breakfast at Hotel, drive towards Turtuk Village. After breakfast at Hotel, set out to explore the beautiful village of Turtuk. The last village on the India side of LAC, Turtuk was a part of POK till 1970’s. The village is one of the most beautiful village in entire Ladakh, also unique for its inhabitants of the Balti Ethnic origin. A walk around the village of Turtuk would give you a glimpse of the land os Baltistan. Walk to the Balti Heritage museum, visit to the traditional storage system. The farmers kitchen in Turtuk is a must visit for a lunch to get hands on a authentic Balti cuisine. Post lunch in Turtuk, drive back towards Nubra. Return back to Nubra. After an early breakfast we’ll drive towards the eastern border of Ladakh crossing the Shayok Valley. Reach Pangong by afternoon. Situated at a height of almost 4,350m, is the world’s highest saltwater lake. Its water, which seems to be dyed in blue, stand in stark contrast to the arid mountains surrounding it. Extending to almost 160km, one-third of the Pangong Lake lies in India and the other two-thirds in China. Pangong Tso

Pangong Tso, also known as Pangong Lake, is a beautiful high-altitude lake situated in the Himalayas, on the border between India and China. Pangong Tso is known for its crystal-clear blue waters, which stretch for about 134 kilometers (83 miles) in length and extend from India to China.
