We did a 2 week Kashmir and Ladakh tour with Ladakh backpackers from 1-15 July. I got to know of this company from TripAdvisor where they were rated #1. When I emailed them it became apparent that this is a truly responsible company - Fida replied to us very promptly providing detailed itineraries customised to our requirements. We made several changes to the itinerary and Fida always replied very promptly. We decided to book all accommodation directly using Ladakh backpackers only for logistics and transport and Fida never minded this. The fact that they were never pushy gave a very positive vibe. For the Kashmir leg our driver and guide was Mr Shakeel. He is one of the best persons we interacted across all our travels across the world - very humble, polite and always accommodating of all our requests. He was always ensuring our best interest by providing us useful suggestions and taking us to the best places for sightseeing and shopping and always telling us what we needed to take care of in terms of any negotiating on pricing etc. We got quite late at dinner a couple of nights in Srinagar but Shakeel never minded. We never felt Shakeel was our driver - he was more of a family friend for us taking care of us as his guests in Kashmir. He is a gem of a person. On reaching Ladakh, Mr Abdul was assigned to us as our driver. We were always hesitant if Mr Abdul would be as good as Mr Shakeel but over time we realised that Mr Abdul was a really warm, caring and friendly person. He became friends to our children taking photographs of our family at different occasions. He always ensured our well-being advising us to always drink lots of water and not sleep during the day to ensure quick acclimatisation. In Pangong he came to our room with the oxygen cylinder and taught us how to use it at night if needed in case of any emergency whereas most other drivers would just keep the cylinder in the car and provide it if requested by the guests. It was now clear to us that the reason of success of this company is that they employed some really good people who genuinely cared for their guests. Lastly how can I not mention about the phenomenal owners of this wonderful company - Fida and Padma. They came to meet us on our first night at Leh - I thought this was unique as one wouldn’t expect the owners of a tour company to come and meet guests personally. But that’s not all - my son fell ill in Leh and had to be admitted for a few hours in the public hospital . Infact it was Padma who guided us on how to get medical care and ensured Abdul took us to the hospital promptly. Not just that - as my son was being treated in the hospital Fida and Padma personally came to the hospital and waited there till my son was discharged. And then Fida and Padma came and met us again on the last night of our trip in Leh to check if everything went well. Truly phenomenal. Fida is infact doing his PhD in tourism and I hope this takes him and his company to greater heights. He is a very polite, warm person and so is Padma. Words cannot describe the genuine, warm and truly good people Fida, Padna, Shakeel and Abdul and everyone that works for this gem of a company are. The reason of their success is that they are genuine and good people. If you are visiting Kashmir and Ladakh, do not look any further than this wonderful company. Wishing them all the success.

Visiting Kashmir as well as Ladakh region of India has always been a major wish in my life and to have this fulfilled by such a wonderful team of professionals was really amazing!. Right from my first contact with Fida, I was assured that this company would take care of the logistics very well and this was indeed the case on ground over 9 days of tour. Padma and Rinchen were equally providing support throughout. The stars of the implementing the whole plan were Shakeel (Kashmir to Leh driver/some guiding) and Ghulam (Ladakh region driver/some guiding). Both did their job very well, friendly to interact and patient with all my photo stop requests or breaks. Thanks to this team, I had an extraordinary experience of this exquisite region of India: epic landscapes, towering mountains, huge colourful lakes that stretch to infinity, mesmerizing concept of space, and true ruggedness of a majestic mountain range of this world. Ladakh should be must do in every traveller's profile! (and I am glad to have done it). Kashmir was a expected gem of a beauty (Jannat-e-Kashmir!), with some postcard landscapes, quaint meditative beauty of Dal lake with its ultra-luxury houseboats, oozing positivity for a region that has now become the most visited in India. All hotels, which were arranged with consulation with me were great; even at some remote places like Tso Moriri, the accommodation staff did their best on everything. Overall, This trip will remain memorable forever in my life and I have taken home memories more than just the beauty, but a lot of culture, interactions with locals as well.
