Asan

Discover the vibrant culinary scene of Kathmandu as we take you on a journey through the heart of the city's rich food culture. This tour includes approximately four stops for food tastings, showcasing the flavors of Asan, Thamel, and Basantapur. The total walking time between these areas is about 1 hour, offering an immersive experience of the bustling streets, local markets, and cultural landmarks. Each stop lasts approximately 30 minutes, giving you ample time to savor the authentic dishes and learn about the stories behind them.

Kathmandu Durbar Square

Basantapur Durbar Square, in the heart of Kathmandu, is a historical marvel and UNESCO World Heritage Site. Once home to Nepal’s royalty, it’s famous for intricate Newar architecture, the ancient Hanuman Dhoka Palace, and the Kumari Ghar, where the living goddess resides. With vibrant markets and timeless temples, Basantapur offers an unforgettable glimpse into Nepal’s rich cultural past. We have around four stop for the tour so we will be walking around in the area of the Asan, Thamal and Basantapur in this whole time.

Really enjoy the food and the experience with this guide. He can find best hidden spots in the city while telling you the history behind it while offering his own perspective! I’ve done the tour with him twice.

I would recommend this tour to anyone going to Kathmandu! The food was incredible and the guide was so knowledgeable and lovely. Walking through the city he showed us monuments and talked to us about history and current events in the city/country. I really felt that I got a good snapshot of the city in the short time I was there! Thank you so much 🇳🇵✨
