Experience the thrill of a lifetime with our doors-off helicopter tour over breathtaking Kauai. On this exhilarating adventure, you will feel the wind in your hair and get unobstructed views from our specially designed helicopter with the doors removed and pilot controls on the left hand side.
Our knowledgeable and skilled pilots guide you through the island’s iconic landmarks, sharing insightful commentary along the way.
Safety is our top priority, and our doors-off helicopter tours adhere to the highest industry standards.
We fly a FULL 60-65 minute tour. You don’t want to settle for any less than 60 minutes, as this allows our pilots to take their time at each viewpoint and rotate the helicopter so all passengers have a great view regardless of seating arrangements.
We fly a MD500E aircraft, one of the safest and best helicopter makes in the world. Please know we fly a full tour with all seats sold. Maximum of 4 passengers per helicopter. Weight restrictions apply.

What To Expect

After checking in at our office and verifying weights you will be given a thorough safety briefing. You will then be transported to our hangar where you will board the aircraft and meet your pilot.
After taking off, your first scenic landmarks will be the Nawiliwili Harbor and historic Menehune Fishpond. This is a great time to test out the two way communication and chat with your pilot and introduce yourself.

5.00Fantastic experience! the pre-flight was handled great and our pilot, Chris, was excellent. I would highly recommend this to anyone thinking about it. It is well worth the cost. I would also recommend this if you are a little intimidated or scared. I never felt scared during the flight.

5.00My wife and I have done several helicopter tours in the past — Grand Canyon, Los Angeles, and more — but nothing compares to our experience with Jack Harter Helicopters in Kauai. This was on an entirely different level. The doors-off flight was the most unique, exhilarating, and breathtaking way to explore the incredible natural wonders of this island. I will admit: if you’re not a fan of heights, the idea of flying with no doors can be intimidating. But from the very first moment, we felt completely safe. The whole team is exceptional — from the kind and welcoming ladies at the reception, to the amazing crew who guide you through the safety procedures and drive you to your helicopter. Everyone is professional, calm, and reassuring. A special shoutout to our pilot, Arthur, who was simply fantastic. His skills, confidence, and narration made the entire experience unforgettable. We could clearly see how much he loves what he does — and that passion absolutely elevates the tour. This was without a doubt the highlight of our entire trip to Hawaii, and I think it’s the most thrilling experience I have ever had in my life. The scenery of Kauai from above is otherworldly, and experiencing it with Jack Harter’s doors-off tour is something everyone should do at least once. If you’re in Kauai, THIS is the tour to book. Truly unforgettable!

5.00My experience on the helicopter tour with Chrissy was amazing — Chrissy, was incredibly knowledgeable about the island and explained each location we flew over in great detail. It was a gorgeous day, and the helicopter was clean, comfortable, and clearly well maintained. We felt safe the entire time. One tip: don’t forget a jacket — it gets pretty windy up there! The views were absolutely breathtaking and worth every penny. It’s a full tour around the island, and the photos came out stunning. I would highly recommend booking the 60-minute flight!

5.00Nick was our pilot and he was outstanding. He pointed out all kinds of sites and famous locations around the island. We had a great day to fly and it was thrilling to go 'doors off'. The process was pretty seamless but there was some confusion about shuttle pick up from our cruise ship. Be sure to have cell phones and/or cameras at the ready and ensure they're all attached so as not to lose them during the flight. This adventure is not inexpensive but WELL worth the price for the experience and the memories.

4.00We liked it.. but i was seated on left side of heli and didn't get very good views of the Napali coast like I really wanted. The pilot really needs to go up the coast so one side can see it, then back the other way so the other side gets a good view. The Canyon worked out fine on either side, but was disappointed that I could not see the Napali coast very well from left side.

5.00Absolutely breathtaking. Doors off is the way to go, the scenery is breathtaking. Everyone was so friendly and helpful. They picked me up at the port and in a short time we were in the air. The pilot was so informative and answered all questions, It was an experience of a lifetime and I would love to do it again.
