Great time! The captain and crew were knowledgeable, friendly and really seemed to enjoy what they were doing. The boat was comfortable and stable. The Napali coast is gorgeous with the sea caves amazing. The March tour included whale watching of which we saw many and a great show by a school of spinner dolphins. Well worth your time!

Our family had an incredible Nā Pali Coast tour with Makana Charters. The Nā Pali Coast is absolutely breathtaking—towering cliffs, vibrant colors, and views that don’t even look real. We saw whales, bottlenose dolphins, spinner dolphins, and even sea turtles up close, which made the experience even more unforgettable. The crew was fun, knowledgeable, and kept the whole trip engaging from start to finish. Captain Sean was outstanding—skilled, friendly, and clearly passionate about what he does. Highly recommend—this was a highlight of our time in Kauai.

In spite of the rain, we had a great cruise. The captain and staff were great. When it rained , the captain played some rain songs, which made us all laugh. We saw whales, dolphins and many waterfalls. They provided everything but the sun, lol. Thank you all.

Pleasant, professional, and fun crew. Makana, the captain, definitely exhibits skill with operating his boat and in communicating with his passengers. The rest of the crew was equally awesome. Definitely recommend.

Excessively long. But I don’t think that can be avoided. I believe this is the closet dock to the coast. I went in March and it was so excessively choppy. Like excessively, not over exaggerating. I had to actively tell myself I wasn’t sick. BUT…it was excessively gorgeous. Truly spectacular. Like unbelievable something that gorgeous exists. We saw several different pods of whales as well and they were very close to us. They really showed off (around sunset which apparently is when they are most active). Was truly beautiful, but if I went again I’d do it in the summer not in the winter when the waves are massive & the surf is so choppy.

Great trip - the boat was in great condition, comfortable to sit, not too crowded and the crew was knowledgeable. Lucky we brought a jacket - since March is still very windy on the ocean. The Captain got us close and personal to the cave opening - almost could touch the walls! Captain described the waves as 'a washing machine' with the chop and swells. Take your motion sickness pills early - there was a dozen folks feeding the fish...

Guaranteed a fun filled experience. It was a thrilling boat ride with Izaiah, Charlie and Makana, the captain with a great sense of humor. Good value for money. The team went out of their way to entertain us and add to the experience. The Mountain View’s were breath taking and the cave rush was scintillating. Will definitely recommend.

Whatever the weather, our captains made this trip enjoyable. Lots of beautiful scenery, wildlife and some rain. The music playlist was very appropriate and a crew member entertained us with his songs.
