What To Expect
Experience the best of Maui's winter season (January 1st - March 31st) on an intimate, owner-led hybrid expedition. Skip the crowded harbor boats and join me for a five-star journey that takes you from the Moana (Deep Ocean) to the vibrant Kai (shallow waters). With over 10+ years of experience guiding Maui waters, I lead you personally into whale territory using high performance sit-on-top ocean kayaks. This is a calm sensory experience: where we listen for the rhythmic sound of a whale spouting and observe their natural behaviors-whether it's the quiet bond of a mom and calf, the energy of a competition pod, or the mesmerizing song of a "singer." Being at water level with these gentle giants is a truly magical experience that stays with you long after your experience. After observing the whales, we transition back to the shoreline to snorkel in the peaceful, calm waters of a turtle cleaning station. Here you will glide alongside Hawaiian Green Sea Turtles (Honu) and explore the vibrant coral reefs. You stay present in the magic; I'll handle the rest. As your personal photographer. I'll capture high-resolution photos of your entire experience and deliver them for free.

5.00What a beautiful and peaceful way to see the whales! Maca, our guide, was so kind and encouraging to us inexperienced kayakers. She is such a pleasant person and whale/nature enthusiast, she was a great guide. The spot we launched from set us out in a perfect place to watch the whales. It was a great experience!

5.00We had an excellent whale watching trip. Kris was our guide and did a wonderful job. She shared lots of interesting facts about the whales and was able to get us close to several. She was very respectful to the whales and keep us at the required distance away as to minimize disturbance to them. I use Tropical guides and outfitters everytime we come to Maui and very highly recommend them.

5.00We had a fabulous morning on the water. Chris was a great guide! She gave us all confidence, checked in often and steered us safely into whale territory. At one point I didn’t know which way to look because there were whales all around us. Chris set a wonderful vibe for the tour.

5.00We had a beautiful morning on the water, seeing all sorts of whale activity and island scenery. Our guide was super friendly and helpful, and full of positive energy. Even though we had to cope with some larger than usual waves breaking on our return, her clear instructions and confidence got us all back onto shore without any worry on my part.
