James was a great guide to introduce us to Taipei. We were picked up from the Keelong Cruise Port and driven to the Lungshan Temple, which was beautiful. Our stop at the Chiang Kai-shek Memorial Hall was amazing, especially seeing the changing of the honor guards. The highlight of our tour was our private food crawl, getting to try 5-6 different dishes from various street vendors. Everything was delicious on James' recommendation. Last was for a photo stop of Taipei 101, the tallest building in Taipei, 11th tallest in the world. The whole day was great!! Highly recommend James as a guide and we felt extremely safe since he was previously in the military police.😉😊

  • Falsely advertised, not English Speaking

We had a great day in Taipei. The only thing that we are unhappy with is the fact that we paid a premium for an English speaking tour and our guide did not speak a word of English. Besides that he was great! But having known it was not English speaking I would have gone for a cheaper option. When I reached out to the tour operator regarding this, they just ignored me and didn't reply. Keep in mind that this tour is falsely advertised.

  • A GREAT DAY IN TAIPEI WITH TOMMAS

Spent a wonderful day with Tommas. He met us at the port entry hall, helped us with the ATM and escorted us to his car with no troubles. We toured all the important sites of Taipei and he even brought umbrellas for us. Treated us to fantastic local foods at the Night Market and had us back to our ship in plenty of time. A great day in Taipei with Tommas.

An excellent day tour of Taipei. Herman was waiting with his car at the cruise port. Finding me on waasap a couple of weeks before, asking my preferences. So communications was excellent & we pretty much planned the day out. Taipei 101 was my “must see’ but as it was a 4 day national holiday, opened slightly later; no problem as we saw other sites nearby - with light getting around was easy. Returning to 101, we were the 2nd elevator (!) so no super long queues - fantastic. Great lunch and easily back in time for the ship. Herman was superb, his English & comprehension was impeccable. He joined us when able to find a parking space or met us after a visit A fabulous 6 hours or so with a knowledgeable, very experienced & informative guide. An excellent tour on a sunny day - thanks Herman!

We chose this tour because we didn’t care for any of the ship’s tours, and it was a good choice. It’s wonderful to have your own guide instead of being part of a crowd of 30 or more. Ken, who lives in Keelung, arrived at 9am as promised and we were back at exactly 5. In that 8 hours he took us to the Keelung Viewpoint where we could see the ship, then to an interesting local Buddha temple built into a natural cave, where we were the only people. From there we went to Taipei, drove by the Taipei 101 because the weather was too overcast, and then had a personalized tour of the Chiang Kai-chek Memorial Hall where Ken chose a superb spot for photos and filming the change of guard ceremony. That was amazing! Then to lunch at a local spot nearby Ken knows where we had a local meal called Xiaolongbao. Ken helped us choose and we loved it! Then to the Longshan Temple, which was our choice. Finally, since Taipei 101 wasn’t going to work out, he took us to a very busy street to see how people shop for Chinese New Year, which was happening soon. All during our day we learned about the history, the customs and culture, and even the politics. Taiwan’s election was just 2 days before, and Ken was happy they chose the more independent route. I recommend this to anybody.
