This unique section of river offers a variety of class I-III+ Rapids in a 5-mile stretch. Making it a perfect trip for those seeking a half-day trip! There will be sections of calm water between the rapids to take in the views and the stunning canyon.

What To Expect
This five-mile section known as the Racecourse is our most popular half-day trip on the Rio Grande. Ranging from a wild class III-IV ride during the spring high-water to a more technical and demanding class III run as the water goes down and the rocks come up in summer. In May and June, be prepared for cold water, big waves, and plenty of interactive excitement. As summer progresses and the water goes down, your guide will be depending on you to help maneuver and power the raft through many tight spots and narrow channels. With the lower water comes warmer water, allowing for more opportunities to jump in and go swimming, and surfing the raft in the waves.

5.00We had an awesome time going river rafting down the Rio Grande from Taos. It was a beautiful day the water was on point we didn’t get soaked but we got wet. Our Guide Pete was the best guide you can ask for.. and our photographer Xavier took some awesome pics.no complaints here. we had fun going down the river…. the price was right and our guide was the coolest dude you can ask for. When I go again when the rapids are alittle more fierce I’m going with the same company. Great price Great guide great pics 👍😀
