I'm very pleased with my choice of booking to visit the Tonle Sap lake and floating village. Born in the village, Sarin was an outstanding guide. Humble and considerate, also with excellent English language. I enjoyed chatting about many aspects of life in Cambodia and of course the floating village which he understands so well. I was lucky to visit just after the end of rainy season, so the water was high and we took a boat to reach the village. Many beautiful photo opportunities. Sarin also introduced me to a variety of tasty local snacks. Bamboo sticky rice was my favourite. I believe (for me) a better option than joining a large group. Yes, a bit more expensive but in my opinion worth it for probably once a lifetime visit. Recommended

When we booked the tour we did not expect to have a guide who was originally from the village. Sarin really personalised the experience such that it was not just another sightseeing tour. We not only learnt about the area but we also met the people and got a deeper understanding their way of life. We did not expect to come across a young artist and purchase one of her first handmade flowers. Sarin also took us for some of the best local snacks and made our last day of our trip a memorable experience.

After the asphalt, a dirt road goes into the village. On both sides houses on stilts, while on the road are put to dry skewered in a surgical way thousands of small fish. Children play with the ashes and earth of the streets. This lake is the beating heart of Cambodia as well as representing a unique ecosystem, also identified by UNESCO as a first level ecological environment. Beautiful children who try to sell you something and make an endless pain, in a context where you can not help it. It should not be a tourist destination, as an attraction, but be destined to humanitarian routes where those who arrive are prepared and can contribute even with little. The poor and difficult lives of those who live there. Taking a boat ride puts the priorities right. Great sadness and awareness of being lucky

What a way of life ! The village is authentic and the people are very welcoming. We enjoyed going through the mangrove and understand more about Cambodia.

Outstanding tour by Sarin. The tour felt very authentic and you will see daily life uninhibited. Sarin was great host and we learned he is from this village so he was able to share more than what you would learn in an average tour. My teenage son also enjoyed the tour.

We had an amazing time with our guide, everything was very well organized and the tour was very interesting. The entire experience including food testing was perfect. We totally recommend this tour.

Our tour with Saro was absolutely brilliant, I can’t recommend the experience highly enough. He made our 7yr old daughter’s day/holiday by letting her drive the boat back after visiting the lake! The tour company appear to be investing money back into the local community which is brilliant to see (e.g helping fund a computer room for the local school).

This trip was wonderful. It was interesting to explore a region that is visited lesser by tourists. We were really lucky to visit at a time when the water levels were high being able to really experience the floating village lifestyle. I also look forward to visiting when the water has dried for the season to see the extraordinary difference. This was a private tour and the detail was incredible. We experienced a part of Cambodian culture that I wouldn’t have seen without trekking further out of the city. I recommend this experience.

Saro, a local of the village was one of the kindest guides I have ever had. He took us by his sister’s place and we sat out on lake Tonle Sap while he explained what life is like out here. We tried bamboo sticky rice and donuts! It was not as “glamorous” as in the high season, but I found it to give more perspective as to how the people live in this village. A wonderful experience.
