Featuring local guides who come from the village, guests gain fascinating insight into life on the Lake, Cambodia's lifeblood. Depart your hotel at 8:00 AM, 2:00 PM or at your conveience. For morning tours, stop at a local home to hand roll traditional incense, a nearly forgotten trade in Cambodia. Afterwards, visit a local bakery. Try Cambodian favorites and help fry up some palm sugar donuts. Upon arrival in Kompong Khleang, take a boat through the village of 14,000 residents. Make a stop at a Buddhist pagoda (with optional blessing). Afterwards, visit a stilted home to meet a local family. Continue on the boat to see the magnificent Tonle Sap lake and Vietnamese & Khmer houseboat communities. Afternoon tours enjoy sunset.

In Damdek we have the opportunity to try local Cambodian snacks including freshly made sticky rice and palm sugar donuts. We will also visit a local market with plenty of snacks, including fried insects
Kompong Khleang
Experience Kompong Khleang, the largest and most authentic floating village in Siem Reap, on a carefully crafted private tour. We leave Siem Reap at your convenience, traveling in an air-conditioned vehicle directly to the village. On the way, we make stops to see a famous sticky rice village, a local bakery, and a rural market to learn a bit about "countryside shopping". Upon arrival in the village, we board a boat and travel through the heart of the floating village, passing by stilted and floating homes that have been here for generations. Highlights include Wat Kompong Khleang and the Glimmering Buddha, the tallest Buddha in Siem Reap. After passing through the floating village, we continue onwards to the Tonle Sap. Here you will see two other floating villages - a Cambodian and an ethnic Vietnamese community. Your guide will talk about its unique ecosystem and how it is the lifeblood of the nation. This tour lasts approximately 5 hours, depending on your needs.

4.00Interesting tour to Tonle Sap Lake. We had a private tour that we can recommend. The trip out onto the lake is not that interesting at low tide as you can't see much of the mangroves.
