Krakow
Our tour starts with transportation from Krakow, either from your specified hotel or a meeting point of your choice. Auschwitz-Birkenau Museum is located in Oswiecim, approximately 1 hour and 15 minutes away (65 km). All of our drivers hold the necessary EU certifications for passenger transport. A friendly, English-speaking group leader will be available to assist you whenever needed. Upon arriving in Oswiecim, you'll have a brief break to grab a coffee or explore the outdoor exhibits. Afterward, you'll be introduced to a professional local guide, licensed by the Auschwitz-Birkenau Museum.
Panstwowe Muzeum Auschwitz-Birkenau
Begin your tour by walking through the gate of Auschwitz I, the first camp, initially established as a concentration camp for Polish citizens arrested after Germany annexed the country in 1939. You'll pass under the infamous sign "Arbeit Macht Frei" (Work Makes You Free). This portion of the tour typically lasts two hours, during which you'll use a headset to hear your guide clearly. The group size is limited to 30 people, as per the Museum's regulations, ensuring a comfortable and accessible experience for all participants. Explore the original wooden barracks, fortified walls, barbed wire fences, gas chambers, and crematoria, which together leave a haunting impression and allow visitors to grasp the immense scale of the Holocaust.

Don't expect full service, even though you pay for it. After the guided tour, the return arrangement was unacceptably mishandled. Upon completion of the tour, we were simply dropped off outside the Old Town area, as it was dark and raining. The tour guide informed us that there was no arranged transport back to our hotel, and despite our requests for assistance, he was unwilling to contact the travel office. This was contrary to the booking terms, which included drop-off at our hotel. Eight guests relied on that door-to-door service. This failure caused undue stress and disrupted our plans.

The tour was excellent - the guide made this so. He was very knowledgeable and explained things well. The only down side was there was not a drop off back to the hotel.

This tour of Auschwitz and Birkenau delivered exactly what was promised. Communication was prompt, and pickup details were confirmed 24 hours in advance. The schedule ran smoothly, and all logistics were handled professionally. The guide had the tickets ready and kept the group organized and informed throughout. It’s a concise tour of both sites with a larger group but offers very good value. The staff were polite, respectful, and handled everything with care. A somber and meaningful experience, managed with dignity.
