What To Expect
Krakow
The tour begins with a transfer from Krakow to Zakopane. You will be picked up by your guide and, along the way, immerse you in the unique culture, traditions, and stories of the Podhale region. A scenic journey from Krakow to Zakopane, where breathtaking mountain views unfold with every mile will take around 2 hours.
Chocholow
On the way to Zakopane, you’ll pass through the traditional wooden village of Chochołów, known for its nearly identical wooden houses. The settlers follow a long-standing tradition of washing the wooden walls with soapy water twice a year, before Christmas and Easter, which keeps even the oldest buildings looking new. The village lies just 500 meters from our southern neighbor – Slovakia.

Day trip to the mountains

5.00Lovely day out to Zakopane up the mountain funicular to a height of 1123m for spectacular views down and across the valley, we got great weather in a mixed weather week but it wasn't luck, we checked several weather apps before booking so we booked the good weather too. Then spent the afternoon swimming and sunbathing at Chochołowskie Termy (Thermal baths): numerous pools inside and outside, several different slides for the kids to play on, several jacuzzi/whirlpool/water jets for the adults plus must be hundreds (no exaggeration) sunbeds scattered over the two levels of sunbathing area, water 36 degrees C so no excuse for not relaxing in it. We were the only two booked for the day trip so had our own taxi plus driver, a very friendly and knowledgeable gentleman whose English was excellent, although I had to correct him when he said pants instead of trousers 😆while showing us round an old Polish home from 1818: American English dominates. Would definitely use Krakow Direct again. Found the online booking process very easy, the guide as I say knowledgeable and friendly and the whole day including taxi to resorts, entry to the funicular and Thermal baths and return to Krakow for 2 only 760zl

5.00The whole trip was amazing, we got picked up by our guide Jacob who was friendly and welcoming, he told us our plan for the day and made the trip down enjoyable, we went quad biking first which was brilliant and when we finished there was a BBQ and firepit waiting on us then it was onto Zakopane for the thermal baths, great experience overall made better by our guide and driver being so good, thanks again Jacob!

5.00Today Bob took myself, my partner and our friends on the Zakopane full experience day. We went to multiple villages, looked at the wooden architecture, tried cheese and vodka, explored and finished off with the thermal spa. Bob was lovely he tailored our experience to our wants and needs, he was very helpful, telling us all of the facts and making sure we was enjoying our time. I would 100% recommend this trip to anyone planning on going to Krakow, it is a long day but so much fun you and you accomplish lots. Once again thank you Bob for being so kind, and making our Krakow holiday one to remember.

5.00This was such an amazing tour. Michal was helpful every step of the way, and he made sure we tried the local cheese and gave us time to take photos. Zakopane is truly stunning, and the weather was also great so everything that day was perfect.

5.00We did two trips during our stay in Krakow with Krakow Direct, and both experiences were excellent. Michael, our guide for Auschwitz, was outstanding — his passion and emotion while explaining the history and significance of each place really stood out. We would highly recommend Krakow Direct and will definitely be using them again on our next visit.

5.00We took a private tour from Krakow to Zakopane and it was a perfect experience. We were travelling with a child and elderly and the drive was comfortable. We got picked up from hotel on time and Will who accompanied us for the trip was very helpful and shared information about the pit stops we made on the way to Zakopane (wooden village and cheese tasting). Zakopane was a good getaway with the scenic views of the mountains and nice walk. Recommend for a comfortable day trip from Krakow. Thanks Will for the experience

5.00The BEST time with Greg. From start to end we have had the most amazing experience. Greg is full of knowledge, so helpful, friendly and professional. Cannot recommend enough, I will come to Poland again and go on another tour with him. The mini van was immaculate, and communication was clear and helpful throughout Zakopane was beautiful, the tour is fantastic value for money. Quad biking was so relaxed and enjoyable. The lady who owns the quad bikes was so welcoming and kind, she made a bonfire and prepared our polish snack beautifully. It’s been an amazing experience.

5.00Pawel was very welcoming from the beginning. We were all made to feel very comfortable and were fully briefed with what to expect of the day. It was a great length of time for the trip, with a few stops along the way to help break up the journey.
